It’s how a dumb southernerer says “bon appetit,” as in, “Enjoy yer fried pot leaves, hon.” It’s not a reference to the subreddit about malapropisms of the same name.

We’ll never catch the Old Country in incomprehensibility. The thickest hillbilly drawl can’t compete with the original recipe Scottish gibberish. I understand the Scots have some beef with the English, and they take out their frustrations with them on their language.

              Languages.

You’ve got Scottish Standard English. Possibly with a strong accent. In some areas, people mix English and Scots so there’s a “linguistic continuum” between them.

You’ve got Scots. West Germanic language, descended from Early Middle English. Lots of shared root words, but not fully intelligible to English speakers. Mostly spoken by people in the Scottish Lowlands and some of the islands, including Ulster in Northern Ireland. Potentially just a dialect of English, but more often considered a separate language.

You’ve got Scottish Gaelic. No relation to English. Developed out of Old Irish, this is a Celtic language instead of a Germanic language like Scots and English.

So the Scottish people have at least 3 languages to pick from to confuse the English.

Fun fact: the Appalachian Mountains are the same mountain chain as the mountains in Scotland. They existed before the continents shifted apart. A ton of Scottish people immigrated to places like West Virginia because it was familiar (and cheap). So Scotland is essentially Appalachian, which shares a lot of food with the American South.

It’s hard to find an exact answer and partly because I don’t know the exact tangible difference between delta 8 and 9 and whether either or both will become illegal. I’m not sure why I haven’t seen more about it.

Trichomes or no, I’d try that.

I wonder if they would retain that grippy cat’s tongue texture when fried?

I really like weed leaves on pizza. No THC and I can’t get high from edibles anyway. I genuinely like the taste.

I used to think that I couldn’t get high from edibles too, and then I realized that I just need 100x the dose. Most edibles have about 10mg of THC in them, so as a daily smoker/vaper I never got anything out of them either. And then I tried a 1000mg chocolate bar from the dispensary and I definitely felt that. I got a nice four hour high out of that one.

The other thing is that the effects of edibles are a lot more subtle. When smoked/vaped, it hits you all at once, but with edibles it gradually builds up then slowly fades away. You often don’t even realize you’re stoned until you stop to look at your eyes in the mirror. And then you notice that you’ve been in a good mood for the past hour or so…then suddenly it dawns on you that you’re high as fuck. It’s that sneaky.

      edit: Math is hard

I used to be only edibles (rarely) but what I hated was that it’d take 45-60 minutes to kick in and if I didn’t dose right I’d have to take more and wait another 30-45 minutes so I’d feel that time was wasted. I eventually switched to vaping when I went 100% WFH and while it was so much better it seemed to quickly go from 2 or 3 good puffs to make it through an entire movie and then some to 4 deep rips every 30 minutes to the point my throat would get too scratchy. I’d have to go on 2 week tolerance resets.

I eventually started adding back some edibles but if I tried taking them after a couple days of vaping I don’t know if my tolerance was screwed. I bought 2 bags of Rocket Bites, and gal behind the counter said she eats half of one and is set for hours. That particular day I ended up eating an entire bag just to get my face to tingle.

Due to some job and personal shit I didn’t touch the stuff for about 3 months. I got a new bag of Zerds (one of those slapped hard several months prior even while vaping) and also got a THC drink. Those barely hit me. I cant tell if it was because I’ve been dealing with fluid behind my ear (not an ear infection) for several weeks and have been popping allergy meds/antihistamines trying to fight it, or if I was getting sick and it counteracted the thc…or if my tolerance is just so far out of whack.

Oh, I’ve tried. Done >1g THC many times. Most I did was 3g of RSO. Still nothing. If I ever have/get cheap enough weed, I’m going for a 10g dose. 10g of THC, not just weed. I think at that point I can confirm whatever is wrong with me.

Not implying anything about you, but I’ve met several folks that simply do not get high no matter how much THC they’ve had, and all of them have been on the spectrum

I used to make mashed potatoes with lots of herbs and weed butter. They were delicious, but pretty hard to dose out reasonably (I consider 500g of potatoes a normal serving, and most people do not).

Cooking with cannabutter is a bit of a risky process. Everyone has a different tolerance, and a different appetite.

I labeled every jar I made with the butter’s starting weight, the dry weight of the cannabis used, and its dry THC concentration. Took a bit of napkin math to figure out how to portion it for lower dose consumption. Usually, I ended up melting a couple of tablespoons and mixing into one tbsp of normal butter. I’d rather be safe than sorry.

Making weed milk was a similarly risky process.

Nice! I chopped up some in a salad and put on sandwiches, has a little Velcro texture lol, but supposed to have some good stuff like other leafy greens. Maybe a little in fresh salsa would be good, with grilled corn in it too!
