Now I generally get along with anyone including people who do absolutely nothing as long as they’re nice it’s all good but sometimes I get a real stinker. A stinker who ynow is actively detrimental who does less than nothing sapping all your time and energy, fucking shit up then leaving it for you to fix and overall makes your day to day absolutely unbearable.

What do you do about them to not scream at them? Cos no matter what job I have there is always at least one and they always fixate on me because I have the bare minimum ask of leave me alone and that’s not good enough for them I must kiss the ground they walk on every time they fuck something up and bail.

Management also always makes the same excuses that I absolutely must work with fuckhead because reasons and I can’t simply work with anyone else for reasons of they need me to cover up for his lack of ability to not break everything.

First of all, never blow up. Step outside and take a breather if you need to but you need to play the game.

Second, start looking for a new job with increased pay and responsibilities. Nothing wrong with a diagonal move either. The best time to find a job is when you already have one, not when you’re unemployed and desperate.

It sounds like management is not on your side here. When that happens you are not going to convince them otherwise. It doesn’t matter why this other employee is in the club and you’re not.

At the end of the day, you’re not in the club. HR will not help you. Management will not help you. You need to help yourself.

Document everything. Don’t act like a snitch but use tact, mention small concerns now and then, and make sure you BCC your personal email. The goal is to have enough proof that if they get rid of you, you win an unemployment claim.

And if you really get lucky, you might win a discrimination suit.

Play the game and find something better. It’s a tough pill to swallow but it is what it is. Whatever keeps the money coming. You need to look out for yourself because you can be goddamn sure nobody else will.

Everyone on my team is 8 hours away. I’m on an island. So i just silently hate them since i’m the top performer pretty much all the time. Funny thing is that in a 9 hour day, i’ll take a lunch, and sometimes two 1 hour naps, and my numbers are still better. it’s not my job to try and make my equals better, that’s on management and im not going to do their job.

  • I… actually don’t have anyone at work that I hate or despise. Everyone I’ve interacted with is pretty chill, though I have to be careful discussing politics because some turboliberal might report me for “anti-NATO sentiments”.

I was successful in navigating the anti-South African sentiments with my colleagues (a lot of who are from West Africa) that surged because of “Voetsek and Voetsek”

Plant coke in their desk then tell HR you saw them snorting a line.

Jokes aside, fuck with them back. Tell them you’ll do stuff verbally then gaslight them if they follow up. Sabatoge them anyway you can without getting in trouble. Chances are if management is unwilling to fire or reprimand them they are unwilling to do the same to you.

People like you’re describing prioritize their wants over your livelihood. Treat them as such.
