The U.S. Postal Service could “derail” the midterm election if it continues rushing out “untested” technology as part of President Trump’s push to restrict mail-in voting, a newly released whistleblower report warns.

Yeah, they are probably “carefully reviewing” how they can find and punish those involved with revealing their nefarious schemes to fuck with our democracy.
The USPS is aware and doesn’t give a crap. When they were centralizing sorting and cancellation and gathered public comment, a lot of people said that’s going to cause problems because a lot of laws verify a legal deadline with a postmark date. The USPS said everyone is using postmark wrong and the solution is they need to educate us better. (That was their official response.)
When asked about concerns about mail in ballots, administrators in Washington were told that they were too small a percentage of USPS business to really worry about and that the USPS was going to look out for the needs of the USPS.
It’s nice the public is finally catching up, but government workers who routinely work with the USPS have seen this coming for years. It isn’t about maintaining a trusted partnership anymore, that era has already ended. The only question now is when our cross purposes become completely incompatible.

I forget who I was listening to. But someone said we need to ban any politicians or talking media heads using the word “problematic”.
Not literally ban it. Obviously. But it is exhausting hearing things like this get covered without actually saying what the PROBLEM is. What the actual outcomes of previous “problematic” things were and how they lead to the current problem.
Everything is analyzed in a vacuum and the doubt and good faith is always placed towards the people and institutions that are entirely dismantling any form of democracy.
It is to the point that anyone that is doing this is just as complicit in the rise of fascism as the people actively working to dismantle the Democratic process. We are so far past the fucking Rubicon that this type of language is nothing but an excuse for and solidarity with the fascist.
This isn’t directed at the whistleblower. But more generally with how these types of stories are covered. Always pointing to a “problem” without taking any reasonable conclusion and explanation of the goals and outcomes.
It’s the talking heads on TV with the “Let’s just tell everyone to vote in person” types of useless and submissive solutions.
