While we only picked up an additional 3% of the Lemmy.world accounts, I want to give a special howdy to our newest mods all the way over in St. Petersburg! They’ve been super enthusiastic about getting this off the ground and professionalised. This is truly becoming an international effort and I am proud of everyone.

It’s been really rewarding to see how new AI agent development and integration have improved the workflow here. I know the team really grit their teeth to get that done - and a special thanks to those laid off after it finished! - but it’s been a huge boon in propagating false narratives and general social confusion. We’ve thrived in that chaos, and I have every reason to think we’re gonna do bigger and better numbers next quarter. The fediverse is ours, and we will hand it directly to Putin when the time is right!

Gonna menace the fuck out of these nerds by offering them free healthcare and a vision of a society that actively tries to catch folk before they fall completely through the cracks

    What a fucking nightmare, right?

It’s actually incredibly easy to take over communities built on a moderator hierarchy that takes policy positions based on a rough consensus of what the team decides in discussions. All you have to do is some court packing tactics and then you have a squad of people collaboratively steering the group towards your intended outcomes, creating the “consensus” using a small group that are working together is easy. This is enough to get you what you want until the higher up mod eventually goes afk for too long and can be replaced, by sticking around long enough you eventually gain seniority and at that point you can purge everyone that isn’t a communist. Congratulations, you’ve successfully taken over a community.

I’ve personally seen this succeed multiple times. It’s very easy. I’ve also been on the receiving end of liberals doing it twice though so it cuts both ways, this structure of community is just especially vulnerable to it.

The problem with this fantasy is who would be bothered to even try? It would be more likely someone here would try this on hex/lemmygrad to because of aome sort of peraonal bugbear or something. Who cares about lib instances enough to do this? Blahaj might be worth it but then you would be required to spent time on 196. cringe The type of person willing to submit themselves to that for fun has the type of brainworms that will make a take over of Blahaj more of a “new management” rather then rescue.

It’s easy, I took over hexbear the same way, with my army of Chinese ex-wow goldfarmers. The best of the best!

lol it’s just so easy, I manage about 5 mod accounts. All you have to do is yell “Tankie!” in some way every other day and people start modding you.

Hey so this might not be the appropriate place to do this but I just have to say:

Whoever is taking my donuts, just because there’s a dozen donuts in a box in the break room DOES NOT mean you can have one. I can’t fit the box in my cubicle but they are all mine, you CANNOT continue to take my donuts. I will ask my KGB handler to deal with you if this does not stop.
