    • Well yeah, because surveillance pricing targets poor people to squeeze every dollar out of them while the wealthy get off easy. Income based fines unfairly target the wealthy for being successful, while surveillance pricing justly punishes the moral failing of being poor.

    I guess it’s just a matter of time before AI-powered surveillance pricing (aka individualized price gouging) becomes normalized. Of course - anybody who isn’t rich (in particular the poor) are going to get fucked. The AI will determine that the poor don’t have a choice so - fuck 'em - make them pay 200% or more. Meanwhile the rich will get a nice discount because they have options and the company offering the goods or services will cater to them.
