I have to call him a friend, I guess.
He is my chuddy friend, and he told me: “You got this :) Never knew a stronger man who would never give up.”
Am I wrong for telling him to stop glazing me? His blind admiration (we have known each other for a long time) still feels weird to me to this day.
I promise I’m really not that impressive. He just has this fabricated idea of me as some kind of Chad Thundercock.
Plus I was never under the impression im being thaaaat nice. Im still snarky. Like I do listen to him …but yeah I guess I could be nicer to my “friends”
You were the one asking recently about chasers and whether you should be concerned about them right? I have a suspicion that this post is a piece of that puzzle.
maybe really bad advice
Tell him you’re a woman: it could fix this and he’ll start to tell you that he’s “never known a stronger woman who would never give up” instead, or it could “fix” this and you’ll no longer have to call him a friend.
Let me phrase it this way: it would at least be very funny. He’s a hardcore stoner and very pro-drug, but he also cares a lot about woke culture war stuff.
cares a lot about woke culture war
Cares in what way?

I care a lot about woke culture war stuff, but I’m on the side of woke.
Ok fine, I guess you basically answered that

He’s a lil hog. If I were his GF, we could watch Tucker Carlson together and I could become his trad wife. He doesnt even know what he’s missing :^)

OH NO!!
Why are you trying to be too cool for friendship. Why is that a thing you are contemplating.
I wish I could have friends that gas me up. No one has ever encouraged me like that ever.
Im not that cool :^)
I just feel there is an inherent imbalance to our relationship.
You could try gassing your friend up too if you feel like there’s lacking reciprocity. Or you could just let him call you cool.
Maybe it would feel better if he doesn’t misgender you?
Nah he doesnt even know im trans and while I would come out to him if I ever decide to transition… Thats not exactly high on my priority list (to come out specificaly to him I mean)
In that case, a lot of bro dudes are juat like that now.
The point she’s making is IMO less about whether he knows and more about whether it would still feel “concerningly positive” if you weren’t getting misgendered.
I still don’t feel comfortable having sycophants (yet?). I just don’t think highly enough of myself to have someone act like they worship the ground I walk on.
EDIT It is cute in a way buuut I dont feel its sincere. I dont think he knows me well enough to offer me such reverence
I get that - I struggle with taking compliments well because I often don’t feel deserving of them, but they still feel better when I don’t get gendered, and a hell of a lot better if I’m actively ungendered by them.
Just consider whether setting aside the exact nature of a compliment whether how the compliment perceives you makes a difference.
Nah. Like its not like I feel like a girl. Im still a trash goblin (affectionate)

Yes that’s what I was trying to say, thank you
That’s certainly the direction I was leaning, though
chuddy
It might not play out that way in this case.
Just take the glaze. You don’t gotta return it or owe him anything. a lil glaze never hurt nobody as long as you don’t start being an actual asshole (being snarky doesn’t count)
