Last spring, it was rumored that agents with the FBI were trained to redact portions of the Epstein files before the documents became public. On Sunday, agency officials admitted to the scheme.
It took independent journalist and award-winning podcaster Allison Gill a year, a Freedom of Information Act request, and a subsequent lawsuit against the government to obtain evidence that the bureau had specifically trained its investigators to scrub the Epstein files clean. On Sunday, Gill received a stunning admission from the FBI confirming that the training videos—which were never released as part of the legal mandate—do in fact exist.
Numerous federal agents from both the FBI and the Justice Department have shared their experiences of participating in the censorship effort, recounting how they would sometimes be locked in the building for 24- or 48-hour shifts to review hundreds of thousands of files, videos, and photos related to Jeffrey Epstein’s child sex-trafficking ring. One of the things agents were reportedly instructed to redact was mentions of Donald Trump’s name.

I think the point is yes, they would have. The allowed censorship was redacting victim names to protect them while exposing the perpetrators, which is the desired outcome. If they hadn’t done anything, both the victims and perpetrators would be exposed, which is not ideal but at least justice could be served. Censoring the perpetrators but not the victims is the absolute worst case scenario, it’s the opposite of what you want, it’s worse than either doing nothing or censoring everything.

Tell me: by what “force” exactly are they being compelled to follow the court’s orders?
Because a number of other courts have already compelled their full release, as has a fucking law passed by Congress, yet here we are. So, what “force” does this court it believe it can bring to bear that can “force” anything?
Until your honor actually holds anyone in contempt for non-compliance and places them in jail until they comply, I’m not holding my breath.
While it’s nice to have more evidence, the evidence doesn’t seem to be the problem. If they were entirely released tomorrow, we’d probably still be sitting here waiting for someone to do something about it.
