Whenever the weather is sunny, it makes it much more difficult for me to find motivation to go outside and do things. I hate the bright sun in my eyes. I also hate how the heat gets trapped in vehicles when the sun shines into them, making them less pleasant to be in.

On the other hand, the cloudy days are a lot more relaxing, and result in cooler temperatures that are more pleasant to exist in and don’t wear me down. The light is much more even when the sun isn’t in the way, eliminating the need for sunglasses.

Sure, the sun helps you make Vitamin D, but we have food and supplements. If Mr. Blue Sky by ELO is really the happiest song, it should be about cloudy days. :P Don’t make me a deity in charge of the weather unless you want cloudy days for the rest of your life.

you have my upvote although I question if you live in an area where its often rainy/cloudy and having a nice sunny day that not to hot is amazing.

I live in a place that has extremely hot summers. Aside from the sweat, the worst thing I hate about a hot sunny day is the smell that sticks to you after being under the sun even just for a couple of minutes. I don’t how to describe it other than smelling like the sun. It’s doesn’t stink per se, but I hate how it sticks to you and your clothes until you shower again.

I associate summer sunshine with allergies, busy social events, stuffy nights… I am absolutely a winter person.

I like spring sun and cool air. That’s an almost magical combination for me.

But summer sun can be downright obnoxious. Too hot, and too damn bright. Cloudy summer days are great because of the things you said, and summer rain is maybe even better.

Similar sentiment but for a completely different reason: as a Canadian I love our short summer. Cloudy and dreary summer days don’t give me FOMO when I choose or have to stay indoors instead of spending time outside.

As a autumn person (and a vehemently summer hater)I agree strongly. So, take my downvote! (just kidding 😉)

Cloudy days motivate me to take care of shit around the house. Sunny days motivate me to go into the woods and get my body moving.
