Well said. It’s also related to why people have the old saying: you should buy proper boots and spend some money on them. Also related to Sam Vimes theory of socioeconomic unfairness.

And it’s tricky to get it right. A cheap job is often the more expensive one and vice versa. Also in programming.

I recently saw some Youtube video from someone who said he was an artist, doing video work, advertisements etc. And he loves his job and doing a good job. And he can’t earn money with that any more, since someone else will do it on his iPhone, do the post-processing in two hours on some modern video editor and chage a tenth of the price (or so). So there isn’t a big market for a freelancer with a $10,000 camera spending lots of hours on color-grading and getting details perfect…

I mean I totally get that. In the old days this wasn’t a thing. Now it is and you don’t need quality, you need some Insta reel twice a week for your company to stay relevant and quality doesn’t matter with those. I feel this itself isn’t the problem. But it’s going to become a big issue once there aren’t many experts, professionals and artists left. Because occasionally people need something robust or nice and with substance to it.

I don’t think so. Most people I’ve seen are pretty aware whether they buy some domestic quality product that’ll last, or a cheap chinesium one. I’ve also seen people replace human logos, texts with AI, and they previously would have commissioned that to a human. It’s not like they confuse the AI with a human. It’s just that it’s so convenient. And they don’t really need it to be perfect or art or anything. It’ll do for instagram and people aren’t really paying attention in other areas, so it’s good enough…

I think people get manipulated into thinking they need a lot of stuff, everything needs to fit into the attention economy and they loose track of the bigger picture. So the entire quality vs quantity is shifted. But I think a decent chunk of people is still aware of what quality would look like.

I applaud the idea, but I don’t think this will happen. People want things cheap and fast. Not quality. They’ll on average prefer anything AI can give them for free and today, over improving the situation. That’s just how things work in real life…

Letztlich macht auch ein Teil der Leute laut Stimmung in dieser Debatte. Ich denke wir haben immernoch viele Menschen die das anders sehen und sich der Nuancen bewusst sind.

Also letztlich ist es ja sowieso schädlich, etwas auf eine falsche Ursache zu schieben, bloß weil es schön einfach klingt und man dann einen klaren Sündenbock hat. So kriegt man ein Problem garantiert nie angepackt. Leider ist Populismus halt sehr beliebt. (Und Ignoranz)

Naja, alles hier klingt sowieso nach strukturellem Problem. Und die Kinder stehen ja auch eher in der Mitte eines fetten Problems, als das sie in ihrer Eigenschaft als Kinder oder migrantisierte(?) Kinder selbst das Problem darstellen. Ich finde es auch wirklich bezeichnend, dass gleich die komplette Struktur rund um diesen Lehrer versagt. Außer ein paar vereinzelten Kollegen scheint ja wirklich alles dort zum Problem zu gehören. Viel bleibt da echt nicht…

Ich hoffe irgendwie dass wir das angehen. Bildung und Schule ist schon wichtig, die (geistige) Gesundheit der Lehrer:innen, und dass aus den Kindern irgendwas vernünftiges wird und nicht unterbelichtete Straßengangster oder soetwas.

Edit: Und wegen der Spinner… Ich denke das zeigt die Lebenserfahrung. Sobald man vor die Tür geht, wird man feststellen, dass es einen gewissen Prozentsatz davon gibt. Politische Spinner, selbstmörderische Fahrradfahrer, viele Leute können echt nicht gut Auto fahren, kaum jemand kann Leute aus der Bahn aussteigen lassen, manche grabbeln 20 Tomaten im Supermarkt an bevor sie eine kaufen, oder glauben irgendwelche hanebüchene Märchen… Und meiner Erfahrung nach hat das auch fast nichts damit zu tun wie die aussehen, wie alt sie sind oder ob sie Maler oder Arzt von Beruf sind… Spinner und “dumme” Leute (in dem Sinne) sind irgendwie gut überall verteilt.

Sure. I was a bit sloppy phrasing this. I meant it’s undisputed that these allegations exist and the ban happened. Not whether they’re true or not. That kind of information isn’t contained in the modlog, nor do I have the means to research this. I meant pointing me at the modlog doesn’t really help, since that’s not the disputed information.

Ja, ich denke es ist ziemlich offensichtlich, dass die hier beschriebenen Kinder sich nicht als Teil dieser Gesellschaft verstehen und sich nicht zu dem demokratischen (und vielleicht offenen) Weltbild bekennen, was eigentlich der zugrundeliegende Konsens unserer Gesellschaft sein muss.

(Edit: Ich glaube aber die Frage ist eher, wie kommt es dazu, wie verstärkt es sich, warum versagt die Gesellschaft, die Schule… lässt hier sowohl Kinder als auch deren Lehrer im Stich… Ich kann jedenfalls aus meinem besser situierten Umfeld berichten, dass relogiöse Eltern nicht automatisch zu fanatischen Kindern führen. Ich kenne da genug Gegenbeispiele.)

Ja, würde ich so unterschreiben. Ich denke auch es geht hier vorwiegend um sozioönonomische Faktoren. Und ganz viele unterschiedliche Dinge spielen auch noch mit und vermischen sich. Ich hab das hier schon geschrieben, aber an den sehr viel besser gestellten Schulen an denen ich so war, hat Herkunft, religiös islamische Eltern haben… denke ich eine ganz andere Bedeutung gehabt. Und das für alle Beteiligten. Also allein durch die Situation und Rahmenbedingungen. Deswegen würde ich ausschließen, dass man alles auf Hautfarbe und Herkunft reduzieren kann. Wobei ich das alles auch nur aus Erzählungen mitgenommen habe. Und zu der Situation aus dem Artikel habe ich fast überhaupt keinen Bezug.

Ja, wobei gerade da bräuchten die Lehrkräfte ja Rückendeckung. Also gerade dort zu versagen wo es schwierig ist, ist schon blöd. Aber die ganze Situation ist unakzeptabel und nicht hinzunehmen.
Es ist aber auch nicht meine Lebensrealität. Ich bin auch aufgewachsen mit Mitschülern mit religiösen Eltern. Aber deren Kinder waren eigentlich allesamt ziemlich in Ordnung. Thanks, nice video and seems he has some numbers. Very inhuman that they figured out exact numbers how it has an allowance to take out 15/20 bystanders as well. Or an entire elementary school if it’s an high ranking “target”. I mean war is a bit of a different thing than policing. But a minimum 10% false positives plus collateral murder is quite a lot. And then I’m not sure if there is any substance to those numbers. I suppose they conveniently eliminate all the evidence with the same bomb that kills the people. And they don’t do research, so I wonder how they even figured out a ratio.
