There’s 2 kinds of people in this world:

Gay people who love driving Miatas, and straight people who have never driven one.

    Miatas change people.

I loved that car, even as a big and tall guy who very much doesn’t fit. I can’t watch that video but is it saying that means I’m gay? But I drive a Subaru….

My first road trip in my subaru was to Maine, and it was a running joke that we all were wearing flannel and beards. Hits both the rustic and lesbian subcultures at once

Great review, hilarious and really gets the feel of the car across. The Miata remains the best fun for money value in cars. Call it gay all you want, I don’t care. I’m having fun. Even when I have a bad day, whipping it around a corner (safely at the speed limit of course) never fails to put a little smile on my face.

To be honest, the car does have something a little feminine about it, but that doesn’t make its driver effeminate. It’s a travel companion, not a fashion accessory.

The reliability is so nice too. Mine’s 18 years old, bought 16 years ago. I’ve done a few major repairs: starter motor, clutch master cylinder (all in my driveway), but she still runs and rides just as smooth as the day I bought her.

Amazing review. A buddy’s mom got a miata during senior year of high school and we all clowned it. Till their parents went out of town on the weekends and leave it behind. That little thing put the joy in joyride. Only thing that came even close to it was an S2000, it was close, but not the same.

They really are perfect. I rented one for a trip down the coast with my wife weight distribution + just the right amount of power makes them very fun to drive.

Took me forever to figure out why your wife’s weight distribution had anything to do with the right amount of power haha

Sucks being tall. I can’t fit in either. Well I can get in to get it on a trailer, but the mere thought of driving one for more than 10 minutes gives me phantom pain. The s2000 was my dream car when it first came out, them I sat in one. Oddly enough I fit in a smart car comfortably though.

Oh yeah, I’m not a tall guy but my left knee would still smash up against the bottom of the dash on every hard turn or shift. If I drove it for more than 30 mins I would cramp up to hell. Me n the buddies would alternate driving between locations (usually a beach) so we could take turns recovering in the passenger seat (which wasn’t much better but at least the steering wheel wasn’t in the way). Very fun car, but in small spurts. And the reviewer is so right, the suspension is rigid, but for good reason. Not an ideal passenger experience. The faster you go the rougher the ride, and by faster I mean anything over 30mph 😂

I’ve owned 6 miatas in my life, from un-altered daily drivers, to an SCCA racecar, to a rotary powered drift machine. Every time I let one go, its never long before I get the itch for another one. They’re the perfect sports car. I don’t have one currently, but I’m working on swapping a miata supension into my old BMW. I just can’t help myself.

Is the perm part of the Miata joke or does he actually like that. Dude had at least 3 different haircuts throughout this video lol
