    I’ve alway been loudly against the Gaza Geocide, and when I was a user in lemmy.world my registration e-mail was leaked to Israel and a Tel-Aviv based organization sent me via it an invitation for a “learn about Israel” online event, in my mother language.

    Since only an admin has access to user registration information like that, I can only conclude that lemmy.world’s administration has at least one person working for Israel.

    Further, at least one of the moderators of news@lemmy.world has admitted elsewhere of being a Zionist.

    Already back in the peak of the Gaza Genocide there was a lot of suppressing of news about Israeli attacks on civilians in the most subscribed forums in there and still now it’s pretty common in lemmy.world forums to have moderators censor criticism of Israel by claiming it’s “anti-semitism”.

    So this is no surprise at all. In fact I myself was only surprised by, yesterday, seeing the post with that picture in a big lemmy.world forum long enough to already have over 100 upvotes - judging by this post here, guess that the people in lemmy.world in charge of making sure such things are suppressed were asleep when that post was made.

    Not power tripping.

    Is it debatable if the image is or isn’t NSFL? Sure, but that’s inherent to moderation; judgement calls suck to make, but they do need to be made quickly when something is sensitive.

    I personally wouldn’t have removed the post without also contacting the poster to repost with an nsfw tag, but it is well within acceptable limits to pull something fast when a shit storm starts brewing in comments. Ideal, no; but also not power tripping

      Yeah, the general tenor of the lemmy.world pics community is to avoid politics (based on my read of their rules) so removing the post seems in line with that.

            There are two genders. Male and political.

            There are two sexualities. Straight and political.

            There are two ethnicities. White and political.

            There are two languages. English and political.

            Calling other people’s lives and deaths political is a sign of highly ignorant privilege. Everyone should be outraged when others are written off as “political” any time their suffering is considered inconvenient or uncomfortable. Do better.

        World would rather nuke the post than do that. There’s even times in the log they mark removals as don’t want to deal with reports instead of just locking them

      Lemmy.world - absolutelly. In fact I have reason to believe at least on of their admins works for Israel.

      Same for the German servers - they too censor anything critical of Israel by claiming that according to German law it’s “anti-semitism” so they have to take it down.

      The rest - not at all: most are Anarchist or Leftwing - from mild to autocratic - and thus deeply against the whole murderous white supremacist colonialist mindeset and actions of Israel.

      Haven’t really seen that. Seems to be some not wanting all Israelis to be killed level of support. But little support of Israeli military actions in Gaza, wb, or elsewhere.

        For those who follow the actual Principle that only people’s actions dictate what they deserve happens to them (not things they did not chose, such as race, gender or nationality), it makes total sense to be against the actions of Israel and wanting those who commit them to be punished proportionally to the harm they cause whilst not wanting for people to be punished merelly for being Israeli.

        It’s absolutelly consistent for anybody who is a natural leftwinger because of having personal principles around treating people fairly, to both be against Israeli aggression and not want all Israelis to be punished as a group, as both things cause suffering to people who don’t deserve it.

        (Now, punishment to Israelis knowingly supporting the murderous actions in Gaza and, even more, those ordering and commiting such actions, that’s absolutelly fair).

        Only the Racists look at those things with a “they are all the same” mindset and thus want entire groups of people sharing nationality or ethnicity to suffer due to the actions of some.

        Agree. I see an anti Israel opinion every 30 seconds. Almost never see anything directly pro Israel. A lot of random accusations of Zionism though

    Any sources that confirm US or Israel did this attack?

    Edit: I don’t understand the downvotes. People are claiming the Iranian government did it, which is really stupid but I wanted to confirm for my own sanity.
