Turns out this is a videogame? There was even a remake made 6 years ago and its on Steam: https://store.steampowered.com/app/1178880/Panzer_Dragoon_Remake/
To this day they are some of my very favourite games. Orta was a thoroughly under appreciated installment. They are well worth your time to play and to emulated/get working on modern systems where you can.
Have not clicked the link for the remake yet, (I was too excited to respond to your comment) but I freaking loved Orta. It was one of the first video games that I think I ever really got into.
I believe the art was inspired by the French comic Arzach.
I wish they’d make a solid remake of Panzer Dragoon Saga.
Tried playing it on a Saturn emulator, and it was pretty rough
