Nah, later, gotta watch this youtube video first…

I don’t feel like doing anything lol…

I’m Gen Z so I think the older generation is probably gonna throw a few insults at me lol

But tbf, my parents are on social media all the time too… or watching some tv stuff on youtube… 🤷‍♂️

No shame. This shit is designed to be addicting. And how could it be anything but difficult to ignore the tiny box that contains all the art / knowledge / news / cat pics etc in the world?

All that said, it’s probably not healthy. But I do about the same.

GenX/Xenial here, and I do the same. I’ve just always been more “online” than others around my age, and I was an early adopter with smartphones (Had a Neo Freerunner in early 2008). This has resulted in a habit of always being able to look things up to pass time.

So like you, I generally have a habit of checking up on stuff whenever I have a few minutes to spare.

    EDIT: ducking autocorrect

roughly in the same boat as you, but all i would say is - if it is something meaningful (like educational, pop sci, or if entertainment, then healthy kind (and not so 1 $ vs 1000 $ thing comparison)), then it is fine. If you are still able to reason, still able to maintain focus on important stuff, then it is fine.

So what?? Everyone is on their phones all the time. It’s hard not to be. It’s not like we can take physical books everywhere we go.

I’m an elder millennial and I tend to stay on my phone a bit much too. Since I wake up 2-3 hours before I have to do anything, I switch out at least an hour of scrolling in the morning for reading a book. I require my purses to be big enough to fit a book so I can bring one with me everywhere I go. I even brought my giant ass book to my haircut so I could read it while I waited.

Don’t feel bad, it’s something that too many of us do. Maybe try switching for a book or graphic novel or something.
