For me it’s literally any MK6 golf with the 2.5 5 cylinder. It’s cheaper to buy a GTI with a fixed timing chain than it is to buy what is essentially a base model golf.
Liter yesterday I found a golf with the manual for $3.5k. It had a blown second gear. The listing underneath was a nicely sorted GTI with a fixed timing chain and a sagging headliner.
They used to be cheap and now that 5 cylinder is the new k24.
Mine wasn’t a YouTuber. I have been in love with the MKIV Supra since they came out. I even went and looked at one at the dealership, but I couldn’t budget it no matter how much I tried. They were starting to come down in price a little, then Fast and Furious came out.
That said, sc300s and sc400s somehow survived the pricing hell that was the a80 supra.
The a32 maxima somehow survived. That and jesses Jetta. Those were always cheap, until the rust took hold.
I was lucky enough to pick up a Miata just months before the Donut media series. So glad I did cause the hype was real.
I bought a black NA in the early days of that series I think. I didn’t actually know about it when I bought it but yeah. I got a decent price on it but I had to show up the next morning because the dude had hundreds of messages about it.
I had to drive 200 miles for mine. It has shown up to the dealer the night before and someone from 3 states over was asking about it. I knew I had to jump on it quick.
I have an ND and was just driving by when my son noticed it and made me stop by. The dealer was on me in a second and I was like dude, I doubt I even fit. (6’4") But I did and he convinced me to go for a ride, and my kid promised to be good. I drove it 3 blocks and through 2 roundabouts and I knew it had to be mine.
If Doug DeMuro could just shut up for five seconds.
A Countach was a reachable dream car when I got my license.
Same happened with the NSX. That dream died 8-9 years ago.
I don’t think this one is on Doug alone lol
THIS! Is a…
Awwwwl right! Driving the 1986 Dodge Viper…
I still want an El Camino, but I’d settle for a Ranchero
I want a Baja. I’m sure I’m in the minority in this
Thats actually pretty interesting, but not for me lol
Luckily the car I really want to get is a Fiero and nobody actually wants those.
The real problem is trying to find one that hasn’t been destroyed and turned into a fake Ferrari.
Unless someone makes a popular video about it, wouldn’t that be a shame…
Someone will make a popular video and still nobody will buy them. They handle poorly and their engine bay is badly designed so it’s difficult to put any other engines into it and the stock engine options sucked… It’s not cute and quirky like an mr2 it’s gm malaise at its peak. That said I’d still have one if I could lol.
For me it was MCM with Daihatsu Coure and now the Subaru Brumby.
Brumby have always been popular though
I am pretty sure no one will make a video on the Matra Murena.
I mean, they weren’t exported outside of France AFAIK. And aren’t very desirable. But they look soo sexy

GTIs don’t look good on video so my car will always be a money pit.
What year? Also the golf 2.5s have all but disappeared. And the ones that remain are more expensive than the gti
2014 mk6 2.0L.
If it’s actually worth something I’ll be so happy.
Those are normal car priced. The mk6 gti in the states is cheaper than the base model which I feel is dumb.
time to get a new dream car lol
Cna someone be so kind as to provide a screenshot/mirror/textual description? The content won’t load for me on either available device, not sure why
It’s a meme of a crying dog looking at a phone with the text “Heartbreaking: A popular Youtuber just made a video about the obscure classic car you were looking to buy”
Ah. I wasn’t sure if my latest attainable dream car was next up to go stratospheric. Thanks. I know the Caprice PPV won’t be safe forever as G8 and SS supply is consumed
Those are going up. Also rcr had a video on those ages ago so market has recovered some what.

Don’t you make my Sunbeam Tiger unaffordable again until after I buy one!
