The NRA under Doug Hamlin is way better than the NRA under Wayne LaPierre. Hamlin has made a concerted effort to tone down the conservative political rhetoric and bring more women and minorities into the organization. LaPierre was the NRA CEO from '91-'24 (most of my life, and I’m over 40) and was a total Republican asshole.

Letitia James brought down LaPierre, she won his civil fraud trial in 2024 and he was ordered to repay the NRA almost $5 million in misspent funds.

If a civil war starts because of what this administration does to its people, it’s the administration’s fault, not the people who rightly rise up to defend themselves. Anything less is blaming the victim.

If a civil war erupts, there won’t be midterm elections. No elections means there’s no way anybody else but the GOP will have congress and there’s absolutely no chance this administration can be removed without violence.

So let’s give these midterm elections a chance.

I’m telling you that this already fucking happened before oh my God why do we give liberals access to the internet

Like I get that you have “born yesterday” syndrome but do you really have to make it everyone else’s problem?

You don’t think there might be some differences between now and a war that happened 150 years ago?

I don’t understand you fucking lackadaisical idiots that think everything will just get better if we ignore it. You don’t think there’s s difference between Donald Trump, MAGA, and fucking Lincoln? My coworkers are CHEERING this on. My neighbors are CHEERING this on. They don’t fucking care because they’re white and currently on the winning team.

This has fucking happened before. Goddamn Europe in the 30’s. Bondi just said they’ll remove ICE from Minneapolis if there turn over all the voting records. That’s what this is about. They want the voting records so they can cry about fraud again when they lose. Only this time they have a ready built army loyal to Trump and Noam, not to the people.

                  Wake the fuck up!

        That isn’t an argument against.

Prove to me in some sort of logical way that not doing that will still result in positive change.

Just because Trump wants something doesn’t make it not the correct and proper next step. It may be an unfortunate next step or a next step that we were forced into, but it doesn’t make it the wrong next step.

The NRA waded into the national dialogue over Pretti’s killing after Bill Essayli – who was appointed by Trump to temporarily serve as a US attorney in California in 2025 – posted on social media: “If you approach law enforcement with a gun, there is a high likelihood they will be legally justified in shooting you.”

In response, the NRA posted: “This sentiment … is dangerous and wrong. Responsible public voices should be awaiting a full investigation, not making generalizations and demonizing law-abiding citizens.”

Don’t discount their self-interest in this. They don’t want their members to be summarily shot, arrested, or under suspicion just for owning a weapon.

oh yes. investigate. write more angry letters. spend more time, pay more lawyers to arrive at a truth that… even when plainly seen by some or most of us, there are those that will always view truth through their preferred lense and distort, through news and media this truth to support a competing agenda.

Being the sceptic I am. Say even if they get the investigation, court and so forth, wouldn’t it just be thrown out in the United States as there would be no way in frozen hell they’d get a fair trial ?

They would need to find mole people to bring to jury who wouldn’t know what’s going on above ground …
