In 2000 Avery Brooks did some television commercials for IBM:
Because they are incredibly energy inefficient. 10x the energy to travel the same distance. They will never be a mainstream thing.
But no traffic.
People can barely manage two dimensions, three dimensions is going to be a shit show.
It’ll be autonomous.
And 2d cars will be autonomous by 2015
Buh? If you’re doubting just think it through. All those tricky situations don’t exist up there (no one darting into traffic etc), everything will have a transponder so you know where everyone is, etc. It’s way easier up there. Amazon drones are already autonomous.
I’m so glad you’re not in charge of anything that matters.
Ah attacks. Reported and moving on.
Flight corridors are a thing
That doesn’t really change anything. Everything with a transponder and transmitting flight intention makes it much simpler.
Lol, yes traffic.
Once you can stack and layer traffic jams pretty much go away.
You think so?
for the same reason we could’ve had EVs in the 90s but didn’t. not profitable.
Uhh. The bigger problem is that it’s a terrible terrible fucking idea. People can hardly drive on flat roads, now you want them to deal with three dimensions of travel?
No. That’s what the chatbot is for.
We have flying cars they’re called helicopters.
don’t we have enough deaths already?
