Everyone, he clearly meant ‘Junior’, the 90s Mpreg movie about Arnie getting knocked up, it was implied.

Do you think that the part you don’t understand is related to the cowboy, the Winkie’s scene, and the boardroom guys? Because those parts are a bit more tangential, they’re only there for their vibe and to expand on the theme of Hollywood being a playground for rich men where women are used as currency. The main plot of the movie doesn’t have a twist, it’s just that the 3rd act’s narrative is set IRL and all the information up until the Club Silencio scene only serves as foreshadowing and characterization.

oh i understand it now, its just my bitter ego.

i fancy myself good at guessing where movies are going/picking up themes, symbolism n such, but this one i only knew i was missing something important. had smoke coming out of my ears and looked it up.

the specific explanation of before/after she looks in the box made everything click, made me feel dumb for not getting it, and respect the movie a ton

Oh yeah I get what you mean. I was rewatching Decision to Leave which is a movie I’ve ranted about on here before (always about how much I love it) but only yesterday realized that the whole motifs of the movie (the mountain and the sea) were referring to the Confucius proverb one of the character states halfway through the movie. Felt pretty bad that I hadn’t got it until now, but made me like it even more.

Presumably you’re referencing the 2013 John Ratzenberger cinematic masterpiece, Super Buddies. Which featured Zendaya, Tenzing Norgay’s grandson (of the same name), and veteran thespians Debra Jo Rupp and Amy Sedaris. very-smart toriel-snooze

I always found it really weird how the author grew up in the GDR, and the story’s subtext is very clearly about the Soviet Bloc defeating and holding back the Western-backed Nazis, yet the film always gets interpreted by so-called “critics” as pro-Western capitalism because “muh freedom and capitalist innovation” is the only possible way that westoids are able to conceptualize a fucking children’s story about a depressed outcast child reclaiming his dying imagination by hiding out in an attic with a banned book.

Yeah, tho there’s this part near the middle with all the stairs and the feathers which drags a bit too long. But otherwise top notch, I rewatch it at least once a year.
