On the one hand, fuck those homophobes and this is a bad reason, symptomatic of bad policies.
On the other, Roblox is legitimately one of the worst games on earth and Russia is probably ironically helping Russian LGBT kids by preventing them from being exploited in that digital sweatshop.
Also, based on the wording of that article in the image, it’s probably also related to pro-Ukrainian/pro-Western messaging being found in the game as well, rather than just LGBT content.
I don’t know the first thing about Roblox, but I find it hard to believe that a game company with that much global appeal apparently has been publishing content so blatantly pro-LGBTQ that Russia actually felt like they had to ban it for that reason. User made content? Maybe. But Russia has been trying pretty hard to secede from the US dominated tech market this year, banning a lot of Western internet sites with the idea of rolling their own. So I think your explanation is plausible.
AFAIK, Roblox is pretty much all user-made content. It’s a grift built on the exploitation of child labor.

Idk this sort of divisive hatemongering is a standard playbook when you’re ripping people off. Find an enemy: migrants, queers, racial minorities, religious minorities and beat up on them so much that people start to believe you are actually keeping them safe. Meanwhile you’re fishing around in their pockets.
The russian federation doing something communist seems as likely as the usa or India doing it. The governments just aren’t interested in anything but power and society is fractured.

the current russian state does actually pander to all sorts of pure aesthetics, including that of the soviet era or at least an image of the soviet era that is palatable to a capitalist oligarchy with a significant older demographic. its hardly unique to Russia, i’d say - it is no different from other forms of ‘golden age of your living grandparent’s parents’ rethoric.
I don’t disagree about pandering. But pandering is very different from a state presenting itself as communist. Modern russia does not present itself as communist

Roblox is the largest gaming platform right now. Larger than Minecraft and larger than steam.

I think the premise of Roblox is that players can create custom areas, which players make their own minigames for other players to join. I’ve seen articles about a number of problematic custom games that have been created. There is also an in game currency which costs real money (Robux), which has been used for illegal casinos.
