How in the ever loving Christ is video footage of the incident “insufficient evidence”? That’s way more reliable than any witness statement. I hope the cyclist escalates that nonsense.
Y’know with that, uh, A.I. stuff and that photo shop computer things, you cant trust videos, only fuzzy accounts from dodgy witnesses, y’know theres those studies that found human eyewitness accounts are like the worst, so yeah, argument won. -the police maybe /s
Actually, you can barely trust the public at all. Only police officer’s statements are trustworthy and I didn’t see shit. Now get out before me and my colleagues don’t witness you falling down the stairs four times on your own.

What’s worse is that there is a witness statement - the OP standing there loudly complaining about being run off the road. We were able to investigate crimes even before video cameras existed. Yet now neither the video nor the OP victim statement is somehow sufficient.
You now need a camera positioned so that it captures an image they can use to estimate the passing distance. Having one on the seat stem, looking backwards with the top of the mudguard in view at the bottom seems to work.
I expect the cops still won’t give a fuck. A 1m long flexible pole with a nail taped to the end might be better.
So if a police officer doesn’t witness a murder they’re unable to use evidence that’s introduced by somebody else at court? Give me a break. They just don’t want to do the deposition and affidavit legwork and hope the non police officer witness shows up in court to introduce evidence if challenged. It’s a more pain in the ass case that has more ways to fall apart (identification, the witness or the officer just not showing up) but it’s just laziness.

This isn’t surprising, police can’t be arsed. They’ve basically decriminalised shop lifting, will say anything they can is a civil matter. They’ve got much better things to do like raping women, stealing their underwear and the odd murder.
You wouldn’t go to the toilet in a policeman’s helmet and then send it to his grieving widow.

Ive seen people do it with pool floaties as a very colorful and less destructive demonstration.
If destruction is your aim and physics is the concern, a plain steel pipe will do just fine.
If your 'merican, you can also generally open carry while on a bike. A shotgun on your back or a pistol on your hip will likely work wonders.
For your last paragraph: the lack of a weapon’s check/lockers and policies against weapons on-property were among the reasons I haven’t biked to most jobs. Ok, that, and no employee showers. I don’t mind being un-armed while working, but basically having to drive to get to work safely, and/or starting the workday drenched in sweat most days, is annoying as hell.
