On base government owned gambling… It’s the perfect system, take working class people with no other options, make them tools of the empire, pay them, but construct ways and means to reclaim their money (and more) whilst also giving them crippling addictions that will ruin the rest of their lives maybe forever and prevent them from moving forward. Wherever there are US bases, all manner of iniquities gather. I can tell from my town in PR, that when we got the base, brothels and casinos popped up and we know how dark it is in Occupied Korea and Ryukyu, not to mention that shitty base where people die all the time in the US.
Now, it never hit me until I read this title that, this is a phenomenon unique to imperialist countries, because they see the rest of the world as their McDonald’s PlayPlace. Japan had comfort women, Unit 731, and played games killing our tongzhi in China, the stinkin’ Br*ts did evil shit everywhere and the US created the Plan B pill out here in my country, where they sterilized thousands of women.
I know I went on a bit of a tangent, but I wanted to draw a comparison with what western troops, including Japan, do, and what based troops, like the FANB and PLA do. These guys are all over their countries doing disaster relief, remodeling and repairing infrastructure, and being a part of everyday national life. They don’t have time for bullshit like the gringos do.
