Texas will build an operations base for up to 1,800 National Guard members in Eagle Pass, expanding the presence of soldiers in the border city where the state has clashed with the Biden administration over immigration enforcement, Republican Gov. Greg Abbott announced Friday.

The 80-acre property along the Rio Grande will open a short distance from Shelby Park, the riverfront area where Texas National Guard members have installed miles of razor wire and began denying access to U.S. Border Patrol agents.

For anyone who doesn’t get the reference, Shelby Park was named after Confederate general and famous coward Joseph O. Shelby, who turned and ran down to Mexico instead of surrender to the Union. He and his men are, ludicrously, known as “The Undefeated” and not, much as suggested above for the camp, a bunch of little piss babies.

I’m curious. Has anyone tried to explain that running away from a fight constitutes a defeat?

Flipping the board is considered concession.

It’s a more dramatic version of tipping the king over. Also the reason I always beat a certain uncle in risk. Mom’s family…. Board games are forbidden,

Took me a little parsing to decipher your meaning in the last sentence, but I agree with you. They should be referred to as a bunch of little piss babies.

It’s easy to remain undefeated when you don’t fight.

For example, I am undefeated in heavyweight boxing, MMA, and cheese rolling.

Does anyone know the provenance of the land? The best I’ve been able to find is generic stuff along these lines.

The Texas Military Department acquired 80 acres of land in Eagle Pass

The 3rd Amendment would be a stretch but still plausible if eminent domain were used to acquire the land used to quarter these soldiers.
