I bought this guy barely a month ago for 800 euros. God it’s an amazing car, and amazingly comfortable too! I absolutely adore it!
I had a Rover 25 and it’s one of the best cars I’ve ever driven, in it’s most literal sense.
The input was so direct, the car was so responsive, and the car did whatever you told it to do even if most modern software would have smoothed out steering or pedal inputs.
For the Linux fans amongst us, it was like driving but everything you did was prefaced with sudo .
Unfortunately, it died due to a common head gasket issue, but that was one of the purest driving experiences I’ve ever had.
Yeah I couldn’t believe how amazing it was to drive. It was my dream first car, and I couldn’t believe the first time I got to drive it just how effortlessly it drives and glides across the road. It handles nearly as well as our w203 c270cdi. though with heavier steering.
You need your two hands on the wheel, whereas our mercedes can be steered by the tip of two fingers.
But god, the seats are amazing, the engine is just powerful enough, 116 horsepower, calm like I like it.
I don’t think many 18 years old own or even dream of owning a rover 75, but I absolutely love mine and I’m so glad I found it. I’d rather have a big comfortable slow sedan than a sports car like so many seem to want. I don’t get the point, give your back some care instead of stiff suspensions and seats.
When I had my friend come with us in the back seat, his first question was if we put a couch in the back from how comfortable it is!
I’ll keep it going as well as I can for years to come, no matter how much money I have to throw down the drain for it.
