You’ll have to forgive my low-skill submission, but my artistic abilities are in audio / music and not visual works.

    ○ <— it’s a CD

Just wanted to be part of the fun. Oh, and they’re making a comeback with kids for reasons of fashion and mild counterculture. Here’s a better one that made a comeback for great reasons like awesome low-end:

It was super cheap! $100 AUD. I’ve only had it a couple weeks now but very happy with it. Plays all audio formats, sounds quality is excellent, SD card slot, has Bluetooth, and can be used as a desktop DAC which made a surprisingly big difference when I tried it.

I mostly just wanted something simple that would play music without notifications and having to fuck around with wifi, or connecting to things before I could play anything.

I have both Bluetooth and smart speakers and I’m over it taking 5-10 minutes to get something playing, and ads in all the music apps (including my phone’s default that I can’t uninstall.)

So many people stepping up to the relic challenge and choosing the ancient blade to stab anyone over a certain age :P

(I kid, I was born on the very tail end of cassette tape usage)

I have memories of my parents’ cassette tote on roadtrips. It was padded like a soft lunch box and held about twenty tapes. I love hunting through for Elvis! Also had a couple of Sony Walkmans and even a Talkboy just like from Home Alone 2. I’m starting to feel old now just saying this out loud!

I actually had one of those from my older brother when he transitioned to CDs; I used it to store my Magic cards.

For a time I also had to have one of those digital-cassettes-with-a-headphone-jack because my first few vehicles were hand-me-downs and only had cassette players in them so to listen to my own tunes I had to get one of those to plug my phone into.

I love the repurposed MTG storage! I had a work truck like that until about 4 years ago and still have the blutooth version of that adapter.

I didn’t know they came in bluetooth flavor. Probably have to nowadays with phones all getting rid of the headphone jacks (which IMO are a necessity – beyond just still owning several wired headphones, using bluetooth audio introduces extra problems that I don’t have with wired headphones, e.g. command delay and signal interference)

I agree and wish I could use wired. Dangling wires are a hazard on construction sites though and I’ve reluctantly switched to wireless headphones to avoid saws and drills.
