It’s still a good game, but I don’t think any of the 2008 gloss that made it a phenomenon survives.
I can’t believe they re-released this for $20. I don’t think the original game was worth that when it came out. It’s a janky game with an interesting plot twist that can’t take over 2-3 hours to complete.
My general take is a game to me is worth ~$1/hr. If it costs more than that, I have plenty in my back catalog to keep me busy.
That means I should have paid almost $2,000 for Civ VI.
They put way too much effort into the commentary, which they then released for free anyway as podcasts.
I would much rather see a Fez revival.
