Sen. Tommy Tuberville (R-AL), who is currently running for governor of Alabama, went on a 20-minute, lie-filled rant on the Senate floor accusing trans people of being violent and “deranged” and proposing that the United States bring back mental institutions to house them.
Tuberville claimed there is a “rise in violence coming from people who the left refers to as transgender.”
I would feel much safer being flown by a pansexual transgender catgirl than by a MAGAt.
I know, freedom of speech and whatnot, but it’s amazing what these ass-backward morons will spout as fact, and worse, use to justify their horrendous policies. Seems like they should at least have to attend some basic “facts of reality” class before returning to work. At a minimum.
Or, you know, a functioning media apparatus that would do it’s job and keep the ruling class in check.
That only works when the media isn’t consolidated and owned by said ruling class.
I think we don’t give enough consideration to just how comprehensively failure to enforce antitrust law has destroyed our entire society.

The thing is, for most of them, they know they’re spouting bullshit. The classes on “facts of reality” wouldn’t help. It’s all just the easy target bullshit they know the base eats up that can get them elected without having to do anything that would help people. It’s a lot easier to get elected on the right with policies of “I promise to hurt these people!” As opposed to “I’ll do something about your financial problems!”
They’re flailing now, they’re trying to instill fear with the most over the top lies they can.
They know they’re about to be wiped off the map in the midterms and possibly even prosecuted.

‘Furries’ are a bit weird, so its an easy target. There’s apparently a disproportionate amount of pilot furries. Pilots affect a lot of people. Since furries are weird, they are an outgroup. The outgroup they are targeting is transgender. Saying the transgender group is both weird and threatening gets people’s attention weather or not its true.
They don’t intend to make anyone believe anything, other than the transgender outgroup is bad.
They focus on “othering” so anyone that isn’t “normal” is their target. Furries and transgender people (not to be confused with each other) are relatively rare and “weird” to a lot of people so they are particularly easy targets.

Tuberville’s comments are comical, but the absurdity comes from genuine, pure evil. We rationalize that evil by calling it conservatism. But that’s all conservatism is. It’s just evil by every definition of the word.
Maybe the speed running community is over representative of trans folks, but I would feel quite safe in their hands. Those guys, gals, and nonbinary pals have crazy control of their manual dexterity.
