Then when texts came around they costed extra, just for funsies. Limited number with possibly massive fees for going over. Yet the texts took up no real room that the phones weren’t already using to communicate with towers

LifeInMultipleChoice@lemmy.worldto News@lemmy.world•Doctors and public health organizations sue Kennedy over vaccine policy change3·6 hours agoI noticed a couple months back that I hadn’t changed my homepage in years and usually used some stupid launcher that never made things quicker for me.
Ended up realizing the best homepage for myself would just be one of the archive sites, so I set it to archive.ph so anytime I click on an article and it loads like shit I can just copy the link click home and paste. Has been surprisingly helpful. Although I am wondering if we archive would have been better. Time will tell u suppose

They have to use them separate now

They updated the article to replace all instances of South America with North America.

LifeInMultipleChoice@lemmy.worldto News@lemmy.world•Doctors and public health organizations sue Kennedy over vaccine policy change28·8 hours agoMaybe I just haven’t paid attention but this last section seems to hit different now:
“The Associated Press Health and Science Department receives support from the Howard Hughes Medical Institute’s Department of Science Education and the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation. The AP is solely responsible for all content.”
The fuck is that, journalistic integrity? Updating an article when there is a potential mistake and owning it…
LifeInMultipleChoice@lemmy.worldto politics @lemmy.world•Democrats retreat on climate: ‘It’s one of the more disappointing turnabouts’63·13 hours agoNot sure what I’d expect to be honest. Then being the party that was “more” for climate change protections just watched the presidency, house, and senate step further from them. When it comes to climate change you need to have the Senate and Congress on your side to get changes done.
It was basically Climate Vs Trans, and human rights vs racism. And Climate and Human rights lost.
So if they need populism on their side… Their best bet is probably to run on culling the elderly with mass public executions, and degrading children for being little useless pieces of shit with no potential.
They need to advertise hate.
Or you know… Maybe we’ll learn something somehow and not vote in complete assholes. Hard to say.
(Not bringing in the economy because both are going to raise the debt ceiling, and somehow not tax the rich, best we would get with all the branches flopping is returning to what we had now)

They don’t stay on and apparently people say water without something breaking the surface tension can pop in the microwave when you go to pull it out (never had it happen to me, but I have only tried a handful of times in my life… always had a teapot or electric kettle). … Or a pot. I used to just throw the teabags in a pot and pour it into a pitcher / cup after
LifeInMultipleChoice@lemmy.worldto Videos@lemmy.world•Why don't Americans use electric kettles?21·16 hours agoUse it all the time, but rarely for tea. Boiling a few eggs last night. Half the water in the electric kettle, half in the pot on high, join half way through to speed up the process. Making ramen, kettle. There is always some reason I find it useful.

I just think of the womb as being upper 90s and moist.

LifeInMultipleChoice@lemmy.worldto Selfhosted@lemmy.world•Let’s Encrypt Begins Supporting IP Address CertificatesEnglish22·19 hours agoMaybe I’m not understanding it but I can’t see what I would use this for due to the 6 day issue period. Bringing a NAS up to copy data for a couple days is the only real use case I find for home users.
Because even if you pay for a static external IP from your ISP, this doesn’t support using such for longer than that period right?
Fucking cavemen and their science knowledge
Oh definitely. Individual metal smooth ball, fine. 10 of them not touching fine. 9 spoons not touching, fine. But if one touches the wall of the microwave or another of the objects there will be a quick spark, and depending on how long the contact, maybe a flame+
Caveman posted a video below that basically shows without rough edges, your usually okay https://lemmy.world/comment/18066606
Note, stainless steel and glass lids are made for microwave safe containers.
