Pepperoni, meatballs, garden tomatoes and jalapenos, olives, moz, green can parmesan, and sauce.
I added a little fennel seed to the dough which offered some great depth of flavor.
Total cost $6

Nice idea. I am absolutely in love with fennel seeds, and would use them more often, but my local grocer only sells them in those little quarter-sized spice containers for an exorbitant markup. (McCormick of course)
A lot of what I make is vegetarian, but adding fennel seeds and a bit of the ‘three peppers’ (red, black, white [MSG]) can help impart a sort of meat-like, satisfying taste).
Been a long time since I made pizza, but IIRC I starting to use sesame seeds and/or poppy seeds to the bottom of the pie to help preventing sticking, rather than just more flour / corn meal. I need a new oven, daggit.
Hit up an Indian store. 7 oz bags are a few bucks.
Haha, आपको यह पता है !
I can do you one better. I work at one. Parents own a small indian store and I ran it for a decent while. I basically live here.
Indian food & Indian spices are just about my favorite foods on Planet Earth.
I still sautee with ghee, and also have my big bag of Panch Puran and delicious cumin seeds. Also, some nice bags of… uh… like fennel seeds coated in a candy-mint layer, for after the meal? (I forget the name)
Let’s be real, tho-- I’m a complete idiot when it comes to making anything remotely close to Indian food. But it really is the BEST food on Earth.
If you like the flavor of fennel seed and you ever find a source for sourwood honey, I definitely recommend trying it.
If I’m cooking on bare metal, I’ll use some cornmeal or semolita flour. In this case I just use parchment paper. Zero stick.
sourwood honey
You’d either have to call me a rich man, or “Appalachian Dan” for that to work, but I appreciate the thought, lol.
Seriously though-- try some poppies, sesames, or whatever goodness next time as an anti-stick. “A little dab’l do ya!” It’ll help add a sort of delicious bagel / pretzel vibe from the bottom of the crust.
Nobody thinks of the bottom of the crust, anymore. Isn’t that a bit sad? 😐
I got dragged to a honey tasting recently. My wife fell in love with the sourwood honey. I might have to make some fennel seed infused honey as an affordable substitute.
Bottom crust is important.
That’s where the foundation is built! :D
I was ready to rip you a new asshole, really lay into you if the crust was slightly off. But no, you made a proper large pizza without sacrificing a delicious, chewy edge. Good on you!!
Ruh Roh, that went from zero to sixty faster than I expected!
Looks great!
It was tasty enough
That looks tasty. Did you make your own meatballs?
Frozen corporate meatballs
Much better than big pharma.
Looks delicious! Just one question - homemade meatballs?
Corporate freezer meatballs. Reheated in an air fryer for a bit, cut in half and added to the pizza
