A lot of centrist/non-DSA Democrats are 100% in support of impeachment and prosecution of most of Trump’s cabinet. It’s pretty clear we need something even more strident than we got post-Nixon.

That’s the most egregious moral and social flaw but there were others that could also have doomed the US from the start. A lot depends on the culture, how it evolves, and which values and narratives are promulgated by civil institutions.
Compared to 100 years ago, USA is objectively less racist, less homophbic, less xenopobic, and generally more tolerant and respectful.
Especially if you consider USA during Obama/Biden. Racists were still racist but the messaging from the top and most of society was: other races are OK, other cultures are OK, other sexual identities are OK

Not much point in impeaching anyway if you can’t actually remove from office at this point.
If it is still republican owned after the mid-terms then you can all assume that the takeover is almost complete. I desperately hope that is not the case and caring adults will have a kick at the leadership can after November (or at least have the power to hold the toddler-beast at bay so we can gird for some real change).
