It is remarkable that there are still people with whom their goodwill is not entirely spent. They really had us in the early years.

I struggle to think of an appropriate “punishment” for such people, because I don’t have the wisdom and vision to see how they can be rehabilitated and reintegrated into society. How can they be? So reluctantly I find myself thinking of capital punishment - how else to make safe a democracy from its most powerful avowed enemies?
Holy shit, you worked for Scott too?

Jokes
I don’t mind that as much as the boomer thing of aching ellipses at the end of every text. Especially extra strength ellipses… Horrid writing style
Edit: I wrote an 8-dot ellipses and Lemmy truncated it to three. I just love that.

Change your own mind, ya misanthrope. You can’t hate humans better. The most important finding of all psychology is the Fundamental Attribution Error. Far less than our inherent traits, it is situations that dictate our behaviour.
Going on the warpath at the drop of a hat pretty much describes my entire immediate family and majority of my friends. The stress is going to end me early, I fucking know it.

If you think about it, it’d be super crazy if you put thousands of ebikes without helmets onto the streets and found that injuries didn’t increase. People are far too casual about risking brain damage. Even if I was stupid and I knew it, I’d still take care of my brain!

It’s true about buying bottles in volume. I eventually just ordered boxes of bottled beer from Ocado to avoid having to haul them home myself.

Some people can’t help but look at the common human endeavour and think, “this tower is getting too tall, God should punish our teamwork.”

I had to give away my prized glass when I moved from the states to the UK, I miss them. Definitely going to get more when I can finally put down roots. Plastic is certainly doable, it just isn’t as pleasing.

From where I was standing, the consensus on that always felt very manufactured.

I did that batch in a 54 litre demijohn. There was so much! You can be sure I tried ice distilling some of it, but it was such a lot of work. Tasty though.
What a pleasure to be understood. Though in fairness there was one genuinely friendly neighbour in Kent and one who bothered to fake it, but the rest were aloof beyond words.
In contrast, the first time we visited town a guy invited me to knock on his door to ride bikes, and on our first weekend living here a neighbour stopped to chat for ten minutes.
Think I’m going to need a new social battery. I haven’t charged mine since about 2019, and it’s not looking good.

Tagged your account “good taste in music”, caught you posting a super fun music vid with a joyful spirit. Just according to keikaku.
Unpacking since Friday, broke and bone tired. However, day one in Weymouth was already more of a social success than Ramsgate ever was. Thrilled at how much friendlier Dorset is.

It does get expensive fast. My first attempt at mead was a 5 gallon batch (sack mead, targeting like 18%) with all orange blossom honey. I don’t even remember what it cost, but I totally failed.
Luckily I was able to salvage it by dumping it onto another ferment in progress, turning it into a cyser made with cosmic crisp apple juice. It was just rocket fuel in the end, though.

I would bet my wallet that this water is objectively worse than tap
The trouble with sandwiches is that eventually you run out of ham
