I respect DuckDuckGo as a secure less data-hungry-tracking-search option… But it’s almost hilariously bad at times.
Not like this changes however much/little data they might collect, but it sure cuts out a great deal of the slop…

You think it’s an error, but no.
The second definition is telling you that verboten means something is “forbidden, prohibited”. As in, the “something” is forbidden because it is prohibited.
But that first one? “Forbidden; prohibited”.
That’s where the real first use definition would go…except you are forbidden from knowing what it should be defined as…because it’s prohibited. For you.
Simply don’t, next time, ok? Or you’ll be verboten next.
