Who would win? A quarter-million kilos of rocket fuel, or one sparky boi? (the answer might surprise you)

Stock would be more likely to take a sudden dip, then raise because Elon Musk said some Nazi shit on twitter to draw attention away from the disaster.

Rockets tend not to suffer damage from lightning for the same reason (modern) aeroplanes don’t: because they’re essentially flying Faraday cages. Even Musk’s rockets would be made of metal. Even he’s not dumb enough to start making plastic rockets. Right?

I could see Musk designing a highly conductive rocket without the design elements to disperse lightning strikes without them arcing through the fuel storage or something because of toxic masculine or stupid reasons

I guess that still wouldn’t blow it up though since the rocket fuel still needs oxygen to go boom

Good thing musk doesn’t design rockets other than occasionally blurting out some dumb shit in the company of sycophants that unfortunately have authority over the engineers that actually do the designing.

Isn’t the entire Starship thing a stupid design because of the obsessive use of stainless steel and its particular shape and whatnot? Isn’t that a Musk design element forced in?

But yeah i know he doesn’t do any real work, sorry that I implied he does with “musk designing.” What i meant by that was less design and more “insert random shit to actively make a design worse”

    sicko-crowd

Launching a orbital mission in the rain and getting struck by a lightning bolt mid-flight, it’s quite divine.

I read in another thread that manned launches, refuelling and resupplying launches for space stations do not to get delayed by bad weather, they’re only outright cancelled by catastrophic weather. The space station is moving at like 7 kilometers per second, the window is very small.

Satellite launches on the other hand can be delayed for hours because they don’t have that deadline.
