Bede Polding College uses the Nazi salute as a greeting to their Year 7 students.

No-one’s going after them for antisemitism. Funny that.

Another witness, appearing as Liat, moved to Canberra in 2022 to study at the Australian National University (ANU) and described herself as proudly Zionist, with both her parents born in Israel.

After the 7 October 2023 terrorist attack, she said she lost the vast majority of her non-Jewish friends, including being told at a university event “we’re not friends any more, you’re a Zionist”.

“The majority of the people who were my friends at the time just stopped talking to me entirely,” she said.

She described an escalation of antisemitism on campus after 2023, including being called a “baby killer” and “genocide supporter” by students who were part of ANU’s pro-Palestine encampment.

What a farce this commission is. AntiZionism is not antisemitism.

“Pround Nazis friends stopped talking to her, this is discrimination!”

Agreed, and it’s bloody tragic that this trivialises actual antisemitism. I’m sure there are some cases of actual antisemitism emerging in this commission but being overshadowed or put into doubt when Zionists are repeatedly abusing the commission to complain about widespread aversion to the Zionist Regime, its ideology and its actions.

I’ve definitely seen people like that go full mask-off armchair psychopath on at least LinkedIn as though their friends and colleagues somehow wouldn’t be able to see their every deprived second-hand murder fantasies spill out. There’s such a climate of fear around the subject now that there’d be absolutely no visible pushback, which maybe feels like tacit approval until you stop being invited to stuff.
