We haven’t seen her for 2 days but omg my partner woke me up from a nap and I wasn’t even mad BECAUSE THE CAT CAME BACK. I’ve been so depressed all day because we were literally going to take her in for shots and stuff TODAY, but then we found out she has kittens she’s probably still nursing, and then a storm happened and she stopped showing up (she had her kittens on a neighbor’s porch, but she’d come running if I beckoned her, and I was giving her food and ice water on our porch so she’d show up like clockwork) and I’ve been so worried about her. My partner and I were both having fucking dreams about her 😭

I think maybe she moved her kittens to another neighbor’s house, so she can’t hear me going tstststststs for her. I dunno.

She’s gone again, I’m hoping she comes back, though. I really wanted to trap her, especially after literally having dreams of her showing back up (i’ve been really upset about it), but we don’t know where her kittens are right now.

I don’t really know what to do if we see her again, if we can’t find her kittens, but at least for now we know she’s safe after that storm.

I love her so much. She lets me pick her up and hold her and purrs! My own stupid cats don’t even like that! We named her Squidward because she has a deadpan “mrow” in his voice.

Anyway that’s it that’s my post. Love youse guys.

  • ngl though I’m kinda annoyed i think she moved to another neighbor’s house, like, come on, move your stupid kittens to our porch, dummy! We’re the ones taking care of you!

Now i think we might have to go talk to another neighbor (🤮) to see if she and her kittens are around.

    • If you don’t have the resources to get them treated and take them inside then that’s really all you can do for them IMO. There might be free Trap/Neuter/Release programs around you to help control their population (which I know is fucked up but also so is an ever increasing cat population) and maybe provide basic care without costing you much but idk.

Otherwise just try to be satisfied that you’re giving some scared little guys a safe harbor. Especially when it’s really fucking hot and humid out. Even if i never saw Squidward ever again I was going to tell myself I did good, she had reliable food, water, shade, and misted water under a covered carport, during 100F+ 70% humidity days. I was so fucking worried she’d die even with all that 😭😭😭 but she made it and the weather has been much cooler since then

You may can borrow a trap from a neighboring municipality if you can find a vet willing to spay as a public service. The vet may even help adopt them out.

        • I’m so glad she came back, too. Just to know she’s okay, at least.

There might be an organization you could contact to try to get something done, maybe the SPCA? If not, well, you’re still doing the best you can. Even if they don’t show you love because they’re feral, you’re still helping some scared little guys have a bit of safety and routine and that’s a good thing even if this site having an indoor/outdoor cat struggle session is a legend
