Hello everyone. Hope you all have had a good weekend. I am still doing Elden Ring seemless co op, and forging ahead with my OG Rome Total war campaign as the house of Scipii. Hope you all have a good week
I got bored with Dragon Quest 1 so I decided to try out 7 on the psx, and wow, it’s actually a really cool game. It’s very long, the opening hour of the game has no combat, only puzzles, and the dungeons are kind of non-linear. According to google it’s a fan favorite of the franchise.
i was playing 7 on psx also, but got stuck at some point because i didnt have the shards i needed, and couldnt find a good guide detailing where the specific ones i was missing were, and didnt want to revisit every single location again.
i assume the remake will hold my hand a bit more and prevent that from happening (if i enable the settings for that)
Thanks for the heads up I will seek out a guide if that happens, so far I’ve been playing it semi-blind
Played some Fallout 4 earlier. Trash game (with fun shooting though), but I really wanna finish the Sim Settlements 2 fan DLC. It came out in 3 parts. I played it on PC when the first part was not beatable due to a bug, and helped beta test it. We were all basically beta testers back then. The game (I mean mod) is still wonky AF. But it’s sorta good. The sim stuff is a bit beyond me, I don’t care for it, but I’m here for the story. So, in short, Bethesda half-arsed two games. The city builder and the post-apocalyptic RPG. Sim Settlements 2 fills in both halves. It makes the city builder make sense, and builds a story around just that. Rebuilding after nuclear war and populating your settlements. So rather than building crappy shacks, you put down these little mechanical things called ASAMs (if they say what ASAM stands for, I’ve forgotten) and in canon, it instructs the settler how to build a home, and they can choose from a dozen or more plans. In practice they’re all the same and most are pretty lame, but it’s kinda neat, too. Looks a little more organic. And there’s a whole story around it. As you’re rebuilding, the local gangs (raiders, Gunners, etc.) get mad that you’re giving their “easy prey” (the war survivors) a place to stay and work and protection, so they take it personally and have a better motivation to attack your settlements, and you and your partner in particular for making it happen. (Before, the attacks were just random and for no real reason.) The mod integrates with the game, all its factions, and its DLCs and everything just plays nicely.
Also Animal Crossing New Leaf on the Mac. I own the 3DS game, but the 3DS is hard to play. It’s an XL model, but the screen is too small. I could never get into playing games on it. It’s my wife’s, and I’ve tried over the years. Last year I modded it, and one of the first things I did was dump all the game carts to the system itself, so we can play without switching games. I think it uses less power, pulling from internal storage rather than the game card, but I’m not sure. Anyway, I learned I could copy the game dumps to my MacBook and play them up here. Tweaking the graphics settings, I got it looking almost as good as Animal Crossing New Horizons (the one on the Switch). The graphics are still lower resolution, and it’s obvious on the objects, but the villagers look nearly as good. It’s rendering at 4000x3000 and scaling it down to the MacBook’s something like 1440p screen. Apple stuff doesn’t respect standards, I’m not sure what my screen is, but it looks awesome. I use an 8bitdo SN30 Pro controller, it looks and feels like a Super NES controller, but it has two analogue sticks in the PlayStation configuration (as opposed to Xbox where they’re asymetrical) and an extra set of triggers. It can play Xbox games (I mean the controller can, not the Mac) and it feels illegal to play Xbox games with a Super NES controller, but all the buttons are technically there. Anyway, controller slips in my laptop bag super easily, so it tends to come with me.
FF14 funny clown raid

Saros- Spiritual successor to Returnal. Been liking it, mostly playing for the story since it seems kind of interesting. I never played Returnal much, but this is supposed to be more forgiving and atone point you get to unlock modifiers to make things easier or harder.
Slay the Spire/Slay the Spire 2- Play STS mostly on my commutes on mobile and STS2 at home or downtime at work. Done a few coop runs in STS2.
Don’t Starve Together- Mostly getting back into it since I have a friend that wants to play coop.
Gothic remake
They really didnt tone down the difficulty at all Also theres multiple quests where you sell weed
Pirated hitman (instructions if you’re curious), bout to have a lot of fun
more Timberorn, fuckin 30 day droughts what the hell
on the last boss of dragon quest 2. probably try to finish ff7r2 after that. then dq7 after that.
when the steam machine comes out will probably restart ff16. played awful on the steam deck at launch… id assume its better now, but still waiting for the steam machine.
also do a mission here and there on my long replay of cyberpunk
Which version of DQ2? I finished the NES one last November, that ending section is brutally difficult. There’s a funny bit from a Dragon Quest 3 interview where they mention that no one on the development team actually played Dragon Quest 2 all the way through.
i did hd2d and finally beat it last night. (didnt do postgame yet) it was pretty tough, but i made sure to take the long way around when knocking out the normal missions, so i was pretty leveled up.
when i did dq3hd2d, i got frustrated at the last boss and switched to easy mode lol. i cant remember if i did the same for dq1. but i did 2 on regular medium boss and all.
Deltarune: Prep for Chapter 5
Spoiler Everything
Doing an all eggs normal route save, a Weird route save, and aborted weird route save. The aborted weird route is the most interesting I think since I was able to get it so I got the thorn ring but also saved Berdly
Spoiler Chapter 2
Weird route was f-n horrible, It’s a very different experience doing the route yourself vs watching it or reading about it. Also the Spamton-NEO fight seemed a lot harder than the normal route but it’s been awhile since I did it so might be that as well.
Spoiler Chapter 4
Beat Hammer of Justice fight on the first try for the first time on my 5th playthrough. I shouldn’t have been surprised but there was some funny dialog if that happens.
