Think we’ve caught a minor cold or something. Body temp a bit all over, and feeling very tired and foggy. Weird taste.

And I’ve started the fucking rag today. One of the worst organs ever, I may as well have a very angry gremlin with knives for fingers in there, for what it feels like.

And I’m expected to just, go out and not look like I’m in pain? Pfft, I say. PFFFTTTTTT!

I have discovered I am excessively prejudiced when making decisions about what media to consume. I was reluctant to watch a new show recommended to me because the lead actor had a moustache. I decided with reluctance to give it a few minutes, and after it opened with the same actor jogging topless and I suddenly developed a desire to give it at least a few episodes.

Then today I was looking at library books and lost all interest in looking further at one when I say the author’s name was Christian. This over-enthusiastic judgement based on absolutely nothing may be the reason I have so much trouble finding things I want to watch/read.

Miss Meow doesn’t care much about sneezes, as long as she is not directly on the lap. Mr Woof however considers it prudent to evacuate to another room in case there are further explosions to follow.

Ah, nangs. A short-lived high with a side order of possible nerve damage, paralysis, incontinence and death. May also cause a desire for whipped cream.

Plus the new big bottles that are popular get dumped on the side of the road frequently and random people phone the fire brigade thinking they are dangerous hazardous waste and that’s annoying.

not possible damage, there will be damage and it’s permanent because it’s physical damage, of course it depends on how much they use

I see the big bottles dumped at parks on the weekend and the beaches are strewn with balloons 😔

    so all you baking mavens

I bought a new baking tray with twelve small molds for individual cakes, but they are deep

and hints on how to grease the molds so the little cakes come out whole?

I can’t put paper in as the molds are decorative

I was thinking lots of butter and then some flour to dust the inside

The classic method is to grease the moulds generously (lard or butter), then add 1 tablespoon of caster sugar evenly mixed with one tablespoon of flour. You can add powdered spices to this if liked - like cinnamon, mace, nutmeg. Shake to distribute and tap the mould while rotating so that ALL surfaces are covered evenly. Tap out any excess onto paper and store for re-use. Then pour in batter carefully so as not to disturb the coating. After the cake/whatever is baked, the coating forms a crust of gorgeous brown crispyness that helps keep the cake fresh. This method works on both stick and non-stick bakeware. The more seasoned your bakeware is, the better the result. I recommend using a plastic spatula to gently loosen the cakes from the mould before turning out if the moulds are new. The more you use the moulds, the more seasoned they get and the easier it is to turn out the cakes.

That’s pretty much what I do for my mini bundts (6 to a tray). A silly amount of butter, and chill the tray so it stays outside the batter. No idea if this works non dairy. Maybe lard?

Unsalted butter + flour for sweet. Salted butter/preferred oil + flour for savoury.

That would be what I would do, after I wasted cutting baking paper and realising it won’t work lol

I think so, but sugar has a habit of caramelising and becoming stickier. I’d stick with flour, as I’d be worried about sticky melted sugar in the pan. But I think combined with flour, it should be okay - I’ve never tried it tbh
