    these guys got so jealous of the scientists making beer/wine out of yeasts found from the dead sea they decided to make bread out of a desiccated corpse.

    at least they will be able to say, “just like mummy made it”

    But that 100% will NOT be the yeast that was used to make bread from back then.

    You can get yeast from basically any decaying organic matter. May as well get it from any old corpse. This is just corpse bread - and who wants corpse bread???

    The scientists then reproduced the gut yeast in a fridge.

    So they didn’t actually destroy any part of the mummy, they just used bacteria sourced from the mummy that they multiplied anyways for further study.
