From the comments they make it seems like they were all contracted to perform at a festival (nothing too weird about that) then they see what it is and have to not only pull out but make a friggin statement.
I imagine more than one manager is getting told off about it.

As for R&B group Milli Vanilli, the group’s original and real vocalists said they would not be performing.
“Others using the name ‘Milli Vanilli’ that appear on the advertisement should be considered a tribute band with no association vocally or musically to our sound of songs,” the group said on Facebook.
Although Milli Vanilli will not be performing in its original form, Fab Morvan — one of the group’s members — will perform under the Milli Vanilli name.
“I am here to entertain and unite people, not divide them,” Morvan said in a statement sent to Consequence. “Let’s celebrate life & music and take a trip down memory lane. I feel honored to be a part of the Great American State Fair as it will celebrate the 250 Year Anniversary of America with so many other accomplished artists. Looking forward to reconnecting with you across the USA this summer and to finally sing Milli Vanilli songs live in person!”
So that’s just kind of awkward.
Vanilla Ice — of “Ice, Ice Baby” fame — is also still a part of the festivities. In a statement to NBC News, his representation said the singer is "contracted and will perform at the Great American Fair at the National Mall on Friday, June 26. He is proud to help celebrate America’s 250th Anniversary!”
So he’s in.
C+C Music Factory vocalist Freedom Williams said he was not informed of Trump’s affiliation with the event, but told his followers in a profanity-laced video tirade on Instagram he will still play despite backlash he has received.
C+C Music Factory co-creator Robert Clivilles, however, said he does not endorse the Freedom 250 event.
“Any political, ideological, religious, or personal viewpoints expressed by Freedom Williams are his own and should not be interpreted as reflecting my views,” he wrote on X.
“Co-creator”? Anyway. So: Flo Rida, “Milli Vanilli”, Vanilla Ice, and 1/2 of C+C Music Factory are the show afaict.
I’ve seen quaint village fairs in Yorkshire with better lineups.
