I moved from Tulsa a couple years ago to Cali. When I got here it was a bit of sticker shock for things like gas. At the time it was about 3.60 now though it’s creeping towards 7.00 I’ve noticed the same with the trump idiots around my town. They should own it.

I put a $500 hold on an EV 3 days the US bombed Iran. Traded in an 18 year old SUV I hated anyways. Reasonably sure thats my luck spent for the year.
Doing some math, it’s over $12 per gallon where I live (€2.50-ish per liter).

I keep seeing these articles about how cheap Americans get petrol for, but they’re framed as if it’s really expensive and I don’t really understand it tbh. You mean to tell me you’ve been paying less than a dollar a litre until now? Wtf?
I agree, but see it like a 30%+ increase in ~80 days. On top of that, remember that most yankee cars are small pp behemoths that chug 50L/km or something
In 2005 it went this high and I bought a diesel because I had to drive a lot. I’m sure many of you are not old enough to even remember 2005, but back then that some of the high fuel mileage vehicles got a big boost in sales. It lasted for a short time.
This time we do have at least some electric large vehicle options and so for those who really think their Image depends on driving the biggest vehicle possible. There are options that are not just gas and we’ll see if those last. All electric trucks don’t seem to do well for people who actually NEED a truck, but that’s pretty rare.

Dieselgate was later. not that diesel was clean, but in 2005, my car met all emissions regulations at the time without cheating.
