Dogs are for people who need the validation and esteem boost of a subservient creature: beta males, empty nesters, people with needful maternal instincts, boss wannabees.

Cats are for people who want a a friendship based on equality and mutual respect.

It’s 2026, far past time to retire the tired trope that cats are cold and uncaring.

Dog People: “I want a child”
Cat People: “I want a friend”

that cats are cold and uncaring

My cats love me dearly, and I love them. One of my cats loves me so much he can’t bear to be without me. He cries and stuff until I give in and let him on my lap

This is definitely the right community, LOL. I am absolutely a dogs>cats person, but this junior-high school-paper article has me questioning 20 years of a catless house.

When I come home from work, my cat greets me at the door, runs around, trills, and rubs against my legs. We have dinner together. Whatever room I’m in, she’s in. If I’m out in the yard, she will go to the window and watch me, when I come in she yells at me. When I’m vegging on the couch, she’s either nearby, or on my lap. She knows how to tell me she wants to play. She will “hunt” me for fun and we chase each other around the house. If I don’t play with her she is visibly disappointed. When I go to bed, she sleeps on top of me.

Tf is this 7th grade shit take?
