I really appreciate the OP of this (nontanne) for making me see the poetry in something I was familiar with, but had never considered in this way before. I think it actually works really well as a poem, and I feel like I’m going to remember this each time it’s extremely windy
Read this to my wife, telling her it’sa poem. She likes the wordplay, and the metaphors. It made her feel uncertain, uneasy.

edit she said it’s beautiful, she could feel the wind. We’re not native speakers, so not sure she understood every line. But still
“Small trees sway, waves break on inland waters” kind of hits.
Yeah, honestly, this is kind of a banger.
This leaves rustled jimmies of violent destruction in my already difficult to use mind.
