The fools at YouTube have been hard at work circumventing adblock to make our lives miserable so they can make 3 more cents per view. Hopefully ublock catches up.

Fuck these people.

Maybe it’s regional test. Didn’t had such problem but I’m also running DNS content blockers.

“Ublock” or “Ublock Origin?” They’re not the same company, Origin is hands down better and still seems to be working fine for me.

      Origin.

Updating it did seem to work for now! Using Firefox.

Google must scramble every day to get us to stop using adblock. How many hours of peoples lives are spent trying to circumvent it…

Ya google tries hard to screw people over. If they put half as much energy into making better products maybe people wouldn’t try to block their crap all the time.

Breaking adblock even for one day likely pays the salary for several people. They would not be doing it if it didn’t pay.

You may think it’s demotivating work, but there’s a breed of engineers that lives for adversarial stuff like this.

I would bet some of those engineers after they finish they work day, they go on to pull an update on Ublock Origin filters so UBo works again.

I just got tired of the fight and enshittification so I dropped sloptube from my internet use beyond an occasional tutorial look up for something. Plus it was the last step in degoogling myself from an account perspective.

While I agree with you based on what I see normies watching, I’m not a slop watcher. I only watch autistic long form content and listen to full albums on my work computer 😗

I’m joking on the “autistic” part but you know what I mean. Normal people aren’t watching a 2 hour video about cash registers, they’re watching ai slop and that beast fellow, idk who he is

YouTube premium is ad free, and cheaper than most streaming services. I personally do the 22.99 family plan. I get 3 other logins i can give to anyone to use it as well and they don’t have to be in my household.

I personally use it for YouTube music on my car. Works perfectly with no ads and it autoplays when i get inside.

This is a privacy community. Suggesting linking 4 email addresses to a single google account and paying for the privilege is the opposite of what most people here want,
