This isn’t really on topic for NCD - it’s about news coverage/ bias rather than defense-related shitposting.
They are both illegal annexations of invaded land.
It sucks that they refuse to state it plainly and honestly when it comes to Israel.
Only one of them is formally annexing the occupied territory, though.
They’re both illegal occupations of foreign territory. But only one of them is actually declaring annexation.
Fuck them both either way. Nuance matters in writing, even if it amounts to the same thing.

Even if you ignore Israel annexing most of the territory the UN assigned to Palestine, Israel illegally annexed the Golan Heights which legally belong to Syria. So there’s no nuance, Israel and Russia are literally the same type of criminal state operating under 19th century principles.

Those are not the same.
- Hezbollah was firing rockets at Israel from Southern Libanon. Occupying the land until Hezbollah/Lebanon promises to stop shooting rockets at Israel is in principle legal under international law.
- Russia’s invasion/annexation of Ukraine is entirely illegal and unjustified.
