was lemmy.sdf.org down for you?
the outage was reported several times on bboard, but judging by the admin response, it seems like there never was any problem.
It was out long enough for me to create my own lemmy instance in frustration.
100% down for me when I tried to post a song.
thanks, max
Was giving me errors the entire weekend. Also what’s Bboard?
BBOARD is the bulletin board system accessible when you SSH in to the “real” SDF

I feel like this might warrant the consideration of some response by the union.
I cleared the browser cache, tried on two machines, and also logged out/back-in with Jerboa. Nothing. It’s gotta be on the server side.
Try turning off your norton.
Is there a Slackware package for that?
That’s not on the official supported list, so I don’t know what that is and can’t assist you further.
As chief Funhole moderator, does that make you the president of F.U.C.C. or are you considered to be in a management role?
director
The xmpp server also seems to be out of date. Conversations can’t connect to it.
I really wish the admins would actually use Lemmy themselves, even if it’s just a tab they check every few days in their browser to make sure it’s not dead or hasn’t stopped federating. Feels subpar.
should someone volunteer to report the image issue? :')
At this point I feel too guilty to even mention it when Lemmy has issues, as it is frequent. I just wait and see what happens.
I already did.
thank you!
It wasn’t just Lemmy. Even sdf.org was inaccessible (not responding to ping either). Perhaps admin just checked from local network.
I am taking crazy pills, but also we were down.
far out, man
where were you during the great content famine of 2026?
The second one or the third one?
Definitely not cheating on the instance. /s
I just wish I could say the other instance didn’t also have performance issues
Rendering animated content.
dm’ing you on irc
Oh, yeah, about that. My bouncer is logged in, but I haven’t set up my client since I formatted my laptop well over a month ago…
i just said “i’m getting the content shakes, man, if i dont post anything in the next 3 months, i will probably die.”
I feel you. Though now I do have a few content ideas to sketch up this Friday evening.
It looks like federation is still catching up, too.
Any means to check on progress? I’m interested in seeing if it’ll catch up on a weekly thread I usually participate on before the week of the thread ends.
Looks like you’ll be caught up in a day or so. You’re up to date with most places except .world.
You can go to All/New and see if there are any posts made by users from foreign instances (and when they were made).
alternatively you can try to open one of our local comunities through a foreign instance and see if the local recent posts show up.
It was down since Friday, and last time looked into it was getting name server errors. So maybe issues with the provider it runs on?
well, I don’t know about that, but i reported it on sdf’s irc in #helpdesk, where it was corroborated that there was an issue with the certs, but that it was also broken beyond.
I really need to get setup to connect there. Always forget until after it’s dowm
yeah it was down for me.
:-(
image uploading seems broken at the moment
yeah, so is federation. maybe it just needs to catch up.
yeah
And based on current feed, it’s been out of sync for a while since world so far behind 🙃
How much storage do I need to run my own Lemmy server at home?
I dunno but I’m fixin’ to find out. currently provisioning a couple Proxmox hosts.
although… I might choose Piefed.
More.
No idea, and can’t see recommendations in their install guidelines.
Gaslighting is a huge red flag.
but… why?
Because it means an abusive relationship.
sdf hates us?
Probably. You need to stop lying to membership about the server being down.

This content looks like me waking up in the morning, thank you for making morning content!
Good morning!
Wouldn’t shock me considering how’s it been outage wise 😭
I was getting certificate errors for a few days, up to as recently as a few hours ago. Seems to be working now (obviously).
Seems to be working now (obviously).
except for all the pictures, I guess
