  • Yes, that’s the trick with nuclear, right? It’s a jenga tower where it’s desirable to pull out your piece of non-proliferation, but if everyone does we’re in trouble. Maybe it’s better to be a sacrificial lamb to keep the tower standing, or maybe it’s not.

    Hiding behind France is a more attractive option for my country, at least. If they need fissile materials we can hook them up with the same stuff that has been going to 'Murica. They can have our other cool rocks, too; it’s only fair.






  • Yeah, it’s not new. Eventually, this shit has to become so pressing and obvious people realise history isn’t over, and history isn’t over here, but the normalcy bias has proven strong beyond belief.

    I really, really though it was going to come to a head after Trump lost his re-election. A thing did happen, but then everyone went back to worrying about paperwork.

    That’s what I said, isn’t it? I’ve yet to read “so we’ve got to double our production or you’re a peacenik” rather than just doomposting when it comes to what conclusions they draw, though.
