I’ve seen others suggest that this is commemorative of the revolutionary war. This year is the 250th anniversary of the United States. The lack of an olive leaf was said to signify our unwillingness to compromise with England.
Sure, that would make sense, under one condition: not knowing about all actions relating to peace and war of the fascist kakistocracy making the change.
Occam’s razor very much applies here and the simplest explanation is that the administration is a bunch of edgelords who think that even entertaining the idea of peace makes you look weak and unmanly.

At the time, U.S. Treasurer Brandon Beach said the coinage design is supposed to “celebrate American history and the founding of our great nation,” but that imagery was scrapped because “the Biden Administration and Secretary Yellen remained focused on DEI and Critical Race Theory policies.”
