I believe if the ultra wealthy leave California, very little will change in the California economy.
If I’m wrong, they’ll just move to a neighboring state and prove me wrong.
If they prove me wrong, we will have two strong state economies and we can take it from there.
It’s not THAT big of a deal for regular Californians. Having multiple stronger state economies would be a good thing in the long term for our children anyway.
It’s not like their taxes fund public infrastructure anyway. Maybe the train build out will go faster without their constant bitching!
I’m considering a fund to hunt the ultra wealthy. In minecraft
The ultra wealthy should consider using that money to give themselves the gift of carbon fiber hulled submarine rides. They deserve it.
500 million is peanuts to the ultra wealthy, i’m surprised they are mobilising so little money.
And saying that they’ll do it costs them nothing. They’re just trying to make a big stink because they think they can scare people into missing them.
I think we should consider abolishing the ultra wealthy.
It is the unprecedented creation of ultra wealthy individuals that is making life miserable in California for everyone else who is not ultra wealthy.
High housing costs at least partly because the ultra wealthy buy up housing as for investment and extractive income, and can outbid the vast majority who actually use housing.
And because housing is so expensive, labor costs to build more housing is also too expensive.
It’s vicious cycle because we treat housing as an investment with value growth potential because of its scarcity, instead of making sure that everyone has it because it’s a basic human need.
And that’s just one example.
The only good policy for the ultra wealthy is to get them and their money out of our lives.
