The scale of destruction in Gaza is incomprehensible to me. Like, I see the picture, I know it’s awful, I feel for those affected, but there’s some kind of disconnect.

It’s the same feeling when I look at images of Nagasaki and Hiroshima. Just all emotion is preempted by a numbness, an inability to process. It’s difficult for me to explain, actually. It’s a picture of gray rubble that used to be people and their homes and workplaces and gathering places, but the picture is totally depersonalized. It’s lifeless, both literally and figuratively. No bodies, no blood, no color at all. Look at it from a distance it might look like TV static.

    I don’t know. It’s weird.

It’s because empaths have a fundamental weakness in being able to understand the lack of empathy needed to be so cruel. Like it’s incomprehensible to be so detached from a moral center.

I think that numbness is likely one of two things. Your psyche subconsciously protecting you from overwhelming emotion. Or your psyche is searching for similar data to decide how you should feel, and literally the answer is null; no similar data available. It’s unprecedented in your subconscious. You may as well have been told 5 billion dwikars exploded.

WTF is a dwikar? I don’t know how to feel about this, I have no basis of comparison!

      Numb.

Can’t believe people defend this shit at all. They turned a place people lived in, into something that resembles a nuclear explosion.

And they still call this war and claim civilians are not targeted on purpose. This is genocide and ethnic cleansing.

Nope. Netanyahu is concerned that he might get arrested if he loses his government coalition and Trump is concerned that his base will abandon him over the Epstein files.

    That’s it, that’s the reason.

I think it may be part of the reason for Trump, but Iran’s oil reserves and military control over the straight of Hormuz is probably an even bigger reason. US clearly wants to control as much of oil supply as it can to keep the dominance it has over the rest of the world.

Everyone should be building renewables and nuclear like crazy right now, because the alternative is slavery to the empire.

Literally anything is better than coal, oil and gas. Renewables are the cheap option to produce energy when possible, and nuclear is insurance for base load in case we never quite figure out grid storage at scale.

Trump is concerned that his base will abandon him over the Epstein files.

I’m pretty sure a lot of the same people abandoning him don’t want a war associated with Israel either.

Sure, that’s why every president of the US shithole paved the way for this.
And you’re using the same deceptive tactic as Bernie the Snake.
Same as Blue MAGA distance themselves from Red MAGA to escape blame he invariably only blames ‘the Netanyahoo government’.
While they have the a consistent history of terrorism same as the USSA, no matter who’s in charge.
So fuck off with your sneaky tactics.
Fuck Shitrael and fuck the USSA

Now that Israel is censoring their war coverage and it’s hard to get any footage of the damage Iran has done, who’s to say Israel didn’t kill 50k of their own protesters?

What other countries have laws in place in most states where it’s illegal to boycott that country? Where state contracts will be void if the company contracting speaks or acts out against Israel in the form of BDS. Flood victims here in Texas had to sign a waiver declaring they believe Israel has a right to exist in order to receive state disaster assistance. Before that hurricane victims had to sign a waiver declaring they wouldn’t participate in any BDS activity in order to get help. 38 US states have anti BDS laws in effect.

AIPAC tweeted yesterday that their influence and money had won the primaries of most of the midterm candidates they backed

But sure the US is in control
