Bans don’t typically change behavior. I agree these representations are not pleasant but does this extend to content outside of pornography?
There are plenty of shows and movies that depict teens having sex using adult actors. I feel those are more damaging since they lack the taboo of porn and normalize the behavior more. Hell, Game of Thrones depicts rape, intense violence and incest.
This is also the UK and the mention of image hashing shows a line to more surveillance and government tracking.
Changing this starts with actually investing in our children and teaching them healthy relationships. This type of porn exists because people already have a desire for it. The best way to change that is to have real conversations and promote healthy alternatives.
I read an interview with an actress who was asked why there’s so much step-family porn.
She explained that it’s an easy niche to make content for - it’s literally just two people having sex. The kink is entirely in the dialogue.
That’s why there’s so much of it around. Not because it’s super popular, but because it’s extremely low hanging fruit.
