GY!BE
Artist not band specifically: Chris Cornell
King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard because they are carrying all of the genres
All them Witches and King Buffalo are no slouch either.
(King Gizzard has no right to be as amazing as they are at every single music genre.pick one… It’s insane how good they are.)
There is another band similar to kglw that is called doom gong that is local to the midwest of the united states which does some pretty cool stuff too
Black Sabbath
Check this out…Zakk Wylde did a thing.
Seen it live, good times
Holy shit how was it‽ Is his voice that similar to Ozzy live?
I mean, it’s great, but it’s basically Black Label Sabbath, if you’ve heard ‘The Wizard’ cover on the Pride & Glory album it should give you a good estimate.
Cocteau Twins.
Nice!
Cocteau Twins is the morning music at my house.
They Might Be Giants
Saw them recently in Glasgow. Absolutely fantastic.
Their music is so wholesome.
No one in the world ever gets what they want
And that is beautiful
Everybody dies frustrated and sad
And that is beautiful
This is way too low
You have inspired me. I am listening to Lincoln.
Alestorm! It has everything, drunk pirates, silly pirates, horny pirates, bloodlusting pirates and pizza, for reasons I guess.
Chris bowes is a racist sex-offender though…
I know, but I don’t dwelve in celebrities personal lifes. Otherwise I wouldn’t have anything to listen to or any movies to watch. Money and fame makes most people assholes…
The Roots (first four albums especially)
Godspeed You! Black Emperor / A Sliver Mt. Zion
Portishead, Massive Attack
Public Enemy
It’s so hard to choose one but I’d say Blind Guardian. If you love fantasy novels then you’ll enjoy their songs. They cover LOTR, WoT, SA, The Witcher, and so many more. They’ve had consistently good albums and are always refining their sound, they’ve even released a full progressive symphonic album based on the pulp novels of Solomon Kane.
The Tragically Hip.
The Mars Volta
John Coltrane
Jpegmafia
Today Is The Day
Dark tranquility 🤘
Rush. Love the 70s and 80s eras especially, but it’s like having several favorite bands to choose from! If I’m in the mood for synths I’ll put on Signals, or if I want something heavier I’ll play the self-titled album. I literally never get sick of their songs though.
I only got into Rush as an adult, but I spent probably 1-2 years listening to almost nothing but Rush. Hemispheres definitely came out my favorite in the end, but I really enjoy most of it ( Though I could take-or-leave some of their later stuff, especially Presto which is just produced weird and tinny.)
I’m mostly on the 20 meter band myself. There’s an active packet community on 14.105 LSB.
I was just reading Contact by Carl Sagan. It’s all about bands. Small world.
King Crimson is the official answer.
But I put Tool, Meshuggah, Between the Buried and Me, and maybe Karnivool in second place.
Have you heard the stuff that Fripp and Eno did together? “Heavenly Music Corporation”. It’s heavy.
Did you get some wires crossed here? After looking it up HMC is electronic music by a guy named Kim Cascone. The group you seem to reference is simply Fripp & Eno.
I’m going to check out both anyway, so thanks!
Heavenly Music Corporation is the album.
Also No Pussyfooting
No. There’s a whole lot of Fripp outside of KC that I really haven’t even dipped my toes into. Maybe I will give this a listen.
Also, have you seen the movie Mandy? It has a lot of KC.
While yr at it check out Eno, if you haven’t.
