Both of course :) With some lounging. And maybe a sauna stint too. Not bad for a public baths at Glenogle. Or out to Portobello for the Turkish baths, the plunge pool is magic. Not quite a treatment at the spa, but a tenner, or even free for the pass users

Been getting back into doing stuff for OpenStreetMaps. I don’t do a huge amount, but it gives me some external motivation to just go wandering about when my brain is struggling to do it for its own sake. It gets you to see funny little bits of the place you live that you would otherwise pass by without noticing too

Also, I’ve unexpectedly got a ticket for a whisky festival in a couple of weeks! My dad is going with a few of his mates and one had to drop out. I did not need asked twice

OSM is one of the best projects on earth imo. Maps used to be costly, and incorrect/incomplete. And that’s all just been blown away. Wikipedia the only other competitor. I’ve submitted a few edits, but haven’t done a walk specifically for it - sounds good nerdy fun. There’s a meetup in Edinburgh for editors, maybe one day I’ll pop along

And I only did 1 whisky festival a few years ago, Whisky on the Fringe, it was excellent. Need to find someone else to go to another with me

Spot on about Wikipedia there, I wish I knew enough to contribute to it more! I pick up little things when I can, and I got involved with the thing a couple years back asking for pics of nature reserves and sites of scientific interest. There are a rare few spots now where the only pics are from me (solely because they’re not that significant relative to how hard they are to get to, but hey I had a good day out getting them)

I’ve been using Street Complete to help with OSM for the most part, it makes it dead simple. I just log on to the actual website to correct more complicated stuff, or occasionally clean up mistakes I or someone else has made

Lawyers for me this week, how fun. Had a fun night watching some olympics with the kids, and tomorrow is the Calcutta Cup day!

Watching the U20s now, fingers crossed the youngsters get the weekend rolling. It has been a good few years since an age grade did the business. Tomorrow isn’t the most hopeful I do caution us all

Before for me. England’s growth has been fantastic. 12 in a row is a very good team, will Scotland be the one to break it? Seems unlikely after last few performances. Might well be more boos from Murrayfield today

We do usually overperform against England, but yeah there’s only so far that that can carry us. Still, I’ll be hoping that the team learnt useful lessons from the Italy game and has ideas to fix them. I’m not expecting much, but I can still hope

All winter Olympics are mental, well better than summer. My daughter did a drawing of the skeleton whilst we watched tonight, was very sweet. I’ve watched loads of curling already, but only a little snowboarding. My World of Tanks season pass is behind schedule!

And Toonie oot, simples. A win tomorrow won’t save him either, his time is done imo

Aww!! Is your daughter quite artistic? Skeleton would be difficult to draw! Hows the wee ones biking coming on??

Poor Gregor! Is there someone to replace him??

She does like to draw indeed. Skeleton not too bad really with a helmet, arms stiff to their side, and the sled is just a tray really. The dogman books also have loads of character step examples to practice on, so she’s not bad at them either

And yes, there is an obvious replacement in Glasgow right now, Franco Smith. But to yank him out means the URC and Champions Cup would be jeopardised for The Warriors. And they are sitting top of both! The team today are comprised almost entirely of Glasgow players, so he’s doing something right along the M8

A more shrewd signing may be the last coach that went too early. Vern Cotter may fancy another crack, he’s currently doing club rugby for The Blues in NZ, and won the league in 2024, so he’s still got it too

Gregor might have held on a bit longer after that today??

My nephew loves the dogman books. Haven’t read them myself but I’ve bought them for him!!

        Hello!

It’s a holiday here on Monday, so most of us are taking it easy, myself included. I’m playing Dungeons and Dragons this weekend, working on art commissions, and going to the movies. Should be lovely.

I hope you have a nice weekend too.

The party doesn’t know it, but there’s an Archmage (the big bad of the campaign) experimenting with wish scrolls, trying to bring his younger self into the future so he can merge his consciousness into his younger body and take over the city of Waterdeep.

The side effect of this experimentation has been chronomagic portals opening around the Sword Coast at random, and last night’s was in a reptile cave in the Lizard Marshes near Daggerford. The Blue Feather lizardmen of the area became fanaticized by it and were worshiping the portal as a god, because on the other side of the portal was the inventor of chronomagic, a Netherese archmage who found the whole affair amusing.

The party infiltrated the cave, killed everything, and had a conversation with the Netherese mage before he closed the portal from the other side. The mage was able to give them some information on their eventual foe based on the nature of the portal.

It was fun. Some good combat and campaign exposition. What’s extra fun is that the big bad surreptitiously used them to gather the scrolls in (in the form of fragments) in a previous campaign, but none of them really investigated that angle, so he’s been gathering his power right under their noses.

Oooh, time shenanigans are good way to get all sorts of nonsense happening. Will the players get to meet their younger selves at any point? Particularly since they’ve already unwittingly been involved

They were within a few city blocks of each other for one session, because another player unwittingly traveled through a portal to our campaign finale from two years ago, when the party was at Castle Waterdeep stopping a coup attempt while Blackstaff was at the docks fighting off a group of raiders and their ships.

They didn’t realize at the time that their future selves were there at the docks helping out Blackstaff while Mhair Szeltune used her magic to re-stabilize the portal so they could get back to their own time.

                It was fun!
